tehxen's Chainmail Hauberks

I find that most high level armours look rather silly, in that they seem to be designed to woo maidens, rather than protect from the sword swings of one's foes; that's why these hauberks are designed to look rugged, functional, and bad arsed.
Chainmail hauberks adds sixteen different chainmail cuirasses under, three main archetypes (jerkin, tunic and surcoat), to skyrim. They are well balanced and spread out enough to be useful to both low and high level characters.
The armours are split into three archetypes, two of which have several variations.

mail hauberk with leather jerkin

mail hauberk with reinforced leather tunic
no variations

mail hauberk with surcoat
variations bearing the insignia of each of Skyrims nine holds
Three nonspecific variations

All armours and each of their variations have custom textures, and there are custom meshes for female characters.
The armours can be crafted (requires advanced armours perk), bought in shops, and found on various enemies.

If you have any complements, questions, suggestions, or particularly inspired insults, please make no hesitation to wildly fling them in the general direction of my face.
Also upvoting this file will make me slightly happier.

In addition to chain maille, there is also scale maille, ring maille, and others. The use of the word chain is to differentiate it from other types of maille armour.

Love the design. The linen surcoat (with belt) really compliments the mail base. Could you make versions that cover the neck as well?

Is there a version that doesn't cover the mail with a jerkin or surcoat? I like the look of mail.

Looks lovely. Does anyone know if this works with the digitgrade Khajiit and raptor-like Argonian foot mod?

They look great! Could you please add a dark coloured one? Like a dark grey or blackish one?

I love this mod! It's one of my two favorite armor mods. I also agree with that there should be both Stormcloak & Imperial versions as well.

I would add to what Heerodin said & propose a separate Stormcloaks & Imperial mod based on your designs.
I would also propose you lower the smithing requirement to Steel, altho it's easy enough for me to type player.addperk cb414 or help chainmail.
Thanks again.
