Getting Started
First off, you need to know what LAN means. It means Local Area Network. That means that only computers in your household can join.

Now, let's get started!

First, you need to turn on TF2. Once you're at the menu, you click find game.
Something like this should show up. Then, click on "create server" as shown.

Once that's done, you need to choose your game options. Here, you choose your map. Then, you click on "game" as shown.

Game Options
The game options determine... well, the game options, basically.

Please forgive me, if the red lines are hard to follow. This is my first guide, after all.
The Hostname determines the name of your server. If you leave it blank, no-one will see your server. Once you've configured the settings to your liking, click start!
note: if your server doesn't appear to your friend, try restarting it. That should help.
Bots
Bots are half the fun of your server. Bots are computer controlled players, or NPCs.

Without bots, your server's gonna be boring, trust me. So, here's how you fix that!

First, you press this little key. ~ That should bring up a little window of code, that runs the server.
I wouldn't tinker around with it, it might do something crazy, then no more server. In our little window of code, type this sentance.

tf_bot_quota 12

This says you want 12 bots. It will divide up the bots, based on the players, and the player limit, and place bots on the teams. If the bots don't move, well, I'm still working on that. I should get back to you in the comments. As someone
said, if your bots don't move, try nav_generate in the console. I will give you honerable mension, pyrocynical.
Wrapping Up
Well, that's basically it! If this guide wasn't helpful to you, please tell me why, and I'll try to edit it to make it better! Please give me lots of tips, if you've made guides before! Thanks for reading!

Honerable Mension section:

Pyrocynical: for suggesting how to make your bots move.

If bots dont work, use nav_generate to make a navigation mesh for them to use

I think it might be because of the connections.. And the server shuts down as soon as you leave it, so just make another one.

Okay. Sorry, I'm not that knowledgable about this. I just found out how to do it somewhere and put it down for other people.

I found it right after I posted that, it's "mp_respawn something something". just typing in "mp_respawn" should bring it up.

I'm not sure there is one.
