Level 1-8 Terinyo and the Small Mountain Cave
Human Archer Walkthrough - Pt1
Basic Order of Business.
1.Terinyo
  • examine your arrow situation. If it's below 30 you might want to consider going home and leaving this one to the next adventurer. If your intelligence is below 15 you may want to also want to leave this quest for a smarter adventurer as you will be wanting to learn as quickly as possible. (A score of 20 Le is probably worth keeping even if the arrow situaton is dire:) Of course high stats are better, but you won't be relying on your Wi, Ch or Ap at all really.
  • equip torch as tool
  • enter to terinyo
  • locate and talk to sherrif, chief (in the central building) and tiny girl
  • buy as much food as you can afford
  • leave town and head west when you're done bumping into the townsfolk.
2.Kranach
  • wander around in circles for a bit in front of the SMC in the hope of encountering Kranach and his posse of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and not a jackalwere. It's best to try and avoid killing anything at this point if it's possible to escape the map unharmed.
  • When you meet Kranach try to kill either a Kobold or a Goblin first. If you have no choice but to kill a raider be sure it's not Kranach, as that will make an important quest impossible later in the game.
  • press "&" and take note of the type of monster you killed first.
  • Kill everyone and take everything, except maybe a goblin or kobold corpse.
  • Go back to town and claim my prize(s) both the bounty for killing him and the price for his head.
3.Small Mountain Cave
  • Leave town and go SSE to the outlaw settlement, it's generally a good idea not to antagonise the locals, but if someone comes at you let them have it with your longbow.
  • Check the shop for anything useful your >3K will allow. A decent mele weapon like a sword or a flail would be a good thing to find at this point. Or maybe a wooden shield, and definitely any arrows and fletchery sets ol' Barney may have, as your dagger is a bit poor, and it's entirely possible you will run out of arrows in the small mountain cave.
  • Talk to the guild master and gain the pick pockets skill. Not so useful itself, but when you get 30 sucessful uses of the ability he will teach you detect traps and disarm traps, (which you will be needing to think about getting around level 12-16).
  • Leave town and travel north to the SMC, the goal here is to get in and get out as quickly as possible. Your primary objective is to locate the waterproof blanket, your secondary objective is to locate the staircase so you can pass through quickly the next time you visit. And your tertiary objective is to find better gear like swords, flails, shields, boots, etc. than you started with. A hooded cloack is particularly useful and quite common also. Finding artefacts here is not unherd of either, but I wouldn't waste my precious time searching for them.
  • read both the scrolls
  • Set your tactics to agressive while there are no monsters next to you.
  • Light your torch so you can see further and be sure to take out any hostiles you see immediately as you complete the objectives and leave the way you came in. Preferably in under 200 moves.
