Some of these posts lack grown up intelligence. So, I will say here: Buckshot....
You go for what you want for the game, bud. This game is not DOOM. It is similar, and has a much more laid back design. It's a good thing, not a bad one.

I for one LOVE games that look out dated. It adds flavor to the genre, and keeps old farts like me coming back and buying these games.

So keep up the good work young man.

You lost the right to use age, experience, budget, or time as an excuse when you decided to try to sell a game. You are to be held to the same standards as everyone else when you are selling a product. If you just want to learn how to make games and get lots of constructive criticism, post it on somewhere like itchio instead.

Uruyal, it is all going to improve, trust me. Just keep in mind that I work on this alone and I am only 18.

I love that music! =). As for the rest... well, it looks clearly worse than Doom. Here's a list of things you should add to the game to make it better: levels with different heights, different textures and different backgrounds. Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Heretic, Hexend and those kind of games all have stairs, doors, complex level layouts, moving elements, secrets, different ambiances, and a wide variety of enemies. You should also try to improve the appearance of the user weapons which is very poor at this moment. I know you've worked a lot on this game but it is not enough. The game doesn't even look better than Wolfenstein 3D or any of its clones (not to say Doom), which came out in 1992, about 25 years ago...

Doom looks better than this, you're using the same engine and there are more tools out there than back in the day.

It is the original Doom, but worse. The sprites look like they were made in microsoft paint. Your game looks worse than a game that came out in 1993.

I want to vote for this, but the extremely bad art assets and bland nature of the layouts and textures just lends an overall feeling of laziness to the project.

I like the concept of the game! Keep at it and you'll be fine!

Keep up the work kid, im still a backer. Nice to see kids trying to get a start so they can learn and make games.
