It is not just T2 drills, It is uncontrolable over land and it does not have a sealed cockpit making it usless in some of the harsher worlds. This design is so outdated that it is not worth of mention in any of the mining trials. Also with the new deposites the harvester storage is insufficent for a core miner. It is outdated and there are far better drills out there now.

Just add T2 drills.

With so many miners out there this little ship falls behind in every way. This use to be a good miner but do to lack of updating it is no longer worth of subscriptions. It is hard to control, unstable over mildly uneven ground. You can not use it in hostile enviorments and it is a waste of space in the hanger. Do your self a favor and type the word "Miner" in the seach bar and pick any other model. This one is dead and waste of your time.

This is perfect for just starting out and want to mine without random critters trying to eat you. The main problem is that it likes to cling to the sides of walls and doesn't have much power to break away. Thats why I made my Facegrinder from looking at this and other hover miners. A little tip: The hover engines should not be allowed to touch any part of the cave you are working in. They will think they are flipped over.

Yeah there seems to be a bug with the landing pads. Try disasembling them and replacing them at a new location. It worked for me.

Can't seem to dock mine.

Just don't try mining on a lava planet with thing and you'll be fine. If you do try it, you'll cook.

Saw a video of someone using this and it inspired to make some mods to my own HV. Today I finally tried the Ladybug for myself. I like to think myself man enough to admit that the Ladybug might be a better design. There were definitely some areas where the Ladybug was superior to my unit. First, the Ladybug costs half as much. The ladybug is also smaller, fitting through the small hangar door with greater ease compared my own which requires me to hover a little lower to get through the 5x3 hangar door. While both have 4 RCS, being smaller the Ladybug has far superior pitch, roll and yaw. I will probably stick with my own because it better suits my playing style (large fuel capacity) but it was great to try out the Ladybug for myself finally. Very nice design.

the drill bike is very cheep and largely works, but just about any miner is better than it if you can afford them, each has its place. this dosnt show up in my list so i cant try it. (and i dont know why)

@Gawain, I checked most of the BPs you listed, and with the exception of "Drill Bots", none of the others are really any better than this. The pros for the ladybug miner is that it's extremely compact and can fit even in a small, starter CV, inside of any hangar door. Even on the smallest, possible CV you can make that's still functional, you can drive the ladybug miner up somewhere on one of the sides or top and dock it. And you're ready to gut ore deposits on the moon. No Oxygen? So what? That's what O2 tanks in your suit are for.
