To make a neutron star. Take any star and increase its solar mass to an amount like 5000 suns (I would not recommend much higher than that!)

Then shrink the size of the star to Jupiter size or smaller. Say, as small as Earth, for example. As long as the star still has the solas mass previously input, the gravity will be incredible! I tried 5000 solar mass and, well, the result was more then I expected. Even at 40 AU, it destroyed the solar system or vaporized Earth.

You can also cool the star to simulate its decaying state to like 1500K to dim it a bit.

Here's how put any massive object (a star, a stellar-mass black hole, etc.) close enough to a planet and let the fun begin. it helps if you put the planet on position lock, slow down time to a fraction of a second, and max out graphics settings.
