----------------WIP NOTICE----------------
This mod is only a WIP (Work in Progress). The full mod will fix a lot more books, and even add more. This current version is not yet complete. NOT ALL BOOKS ARE MODIFIED TO HAVE INCREASED PRICES. There are still ones I have yet to get to.
----------------END NOTICE---------------

----------------0.2 UPDATE NOTICE-----------------
I had promised new books, and they will come, but something happened to my file that messed everything. Actually I almost had the file revert back to 0.1 from all the edits I had made. I had found my backup, but for some reason all the books I had added were gone. I had 3 books planned to be in this update, but I have to postpone it to the next. SORRY GUYS! D:
----------------0.2 UPDATE NOTICE-----------------

Ever been angry at how low the price for books was in Skyrim? Feel like it's unrealistic, and a waste of time? With this mod Skyrim's books serve more of an economic purpose in the game. The old 1 - 30 gold per-book was pointless, and left you wondering why they even added books to the game. Well with this mod, books have increased extremely in price, making finding them more purposeful in your adventures.

What this mod does is increase the value for books in Skyrim, and modifies some books to now be Skill books (Based on the name of the book).

This mod is later going to be adding new books to the world of Skyrim as well. Rare books will actually be worth a lot, and more common books will be worth less. New skill books will also be added.

-VERSION HISTORY-
Version 0.2-
*Edited book weight (Changed most books from 1 weight point to .1 weight point).
*Evened some of the prices.

Version 0.1-
*Release
*Increased price for most books.
*Modified existing books to level up skills.

NOTE:
The .esp is named "GleechBookCost" because I never expected to actually upload the file.

If you think this mod is silly, stupid, pointless, idiotic, whatever, don't bother speaking. I made this mod for myself, and the one person who was worthy enough to have an article posted on Steam about the stupidity of the book market in the game. This mod is NOT meant for boosting, or is suppose to be used for farming money. All it does is increase the price of books so they are actually realistic which gives them a point to the game mechanics.

Well thanks, you should definetly revive this mod in that case, you're adding some content we all love to have.

Regretfully I must say I've sort of abandoned this mod. In fact I haven't even really looked at it in so long... xD

There was another mod that aimed to do something similar, I was actually approached and asked if I would like to merge with it. Sadly since I hadn't worked on it in forever I wasn't able to take the kind sir up on the offer.

Though, if it's not already in a mod I may look into using this to port over books from Oblivion that didn't make it. No sense in now having them in Skyrim! Thanks for the suggestion!

Could you also increase how common some books are, maybe random drops on bandits and other human NPCs or such? Also, what kind of books are you planning to add? Like, Oblivion books that didn't make it to the next game?

This mod increases the prices for books in Skyrim, making finding them a little bit better. Later I was planning on adding more books to the game for the reading enjoyment of others, as well as adding a few more locations to find books. There's another mod that is actually out there that adds new books however, and due to an error when editing I lost a lot of progress on the mod. For now I will not be updating it, but it's still there in the current state if you want it.

Sorry guys! I have to apologize that 0.2 does NOT add new books. My esp almost got completely deleted somehow, and I almost had to revert back to v0.1 after all the changes I made. It saved a lot that I did, but somehow saved JUST before I added in the new books. I have 3 on the way, which WERE added in (I had just finished up with the new skillbook I was adding... dang now I have to re-make it xP) but due to technical errors they wont be.

V0.2 adds more evened out prices, and fixed bookweight so the books are lighter to carry. (.1 weight point.)

V0.3 will add new books, I promise. I'll try and double what I was going to add by making it 6 new books instead of 3! :)

Suggestion: Add the book FEYFOLKEN I from Morrowind lore to Skyrim.

The reason books are the prices they are (and inns, while unrelated to your specific mod, is related to a another mod that thinks the way you do) is because not everyone is the Dragonborn who makes ridonculous amounts of money. The price of an inn and a book are reasonable. Also, skill books are based on content, not the name. So read them before changing anything.
