An overwhelming response
HardcoreGamer

Big love to HardcoreGamer[www.hardcoregamer.com] For the amazing feature on their website! I wish I had know about this site prior to write them personally, but they got my by surprise.

Vernaculargaming

Small but lovely indie game blog Vernacular Gaming[vernaculargaming.blogspot.de] release a really great review on the downloadable demo for Fumiko! - You need to check this out. They seem to really give indie games the time they need to write a meaningful review.

IndieNova

Chinese indie game site IndieNova[www.indienova.com] featured Fumiko! yesterday! I wouldn't have known without searching them out. Give them some love.

Saraboom

Thai indie game blog Saraboom[saraboom.com] released a small but lovely feature article! Thank you so much! But don't trust google translate - Fumiko is not a drug problem inventor.

Reddit

If you're a creator and you shared content to reddit before, you'll know how hard it can get to not fall into the reddit abyss of posts that have never been seen. Not so with /r/linux_gaming - these people here played the demos and got me some of the most meaningful feedback I received so far.

If you want to read the comments and my answers in the thread, you'll find it here!

Imgur

Right from oblivion, here's the imgur[imgur.com] post I made on friday. If you want to read a bit more about the story behind Fumiko!, have a go! I'm not heading for the frontpage but the post had got a chunk of upvotes and I'm very thankful for that. Back to lurking again, I guess?

Thank you!

You are taking the time to give all this great feedback. I try to read everything I stumble upon. I cannot do enough to appreciate the effort you are putting into these reviews.

Cheers,
Odrez

Description
Release date: Between now and January 2017

Fumiko is a story-driven, artistic platformer that is not ashamed of being weird and unique.

You are an artificial intelligence named Fumiko. You managed to escape the testing grounds and voices are telling you where to go. A surreal world is unfolding. Everything is unknown to you in a dystopian network of 2080.

In this single-player, story-driven game you'll enter a rabbit hole. The network is preparing to stop you from becoming too powerful. Visit social hubs and protect the people from a threat yet unknown.

  • Your abilities are taking surreal forms over the course of the game as Fumiko! is evolving
  • The longest dashs and highest jumps you have ever seen

  • Learn more about this virtual network of the 2080s and explore the lifes of its inhabitants
  • Break into threatful security systems in your search for answers
  • Admire the beauty of a hand-crafted low-poly world
  • Day-1 Linux and Windows support

There are two demos you can play right now! The full game features a rich variety of worlds to explore, but these two levels were created to let you take a look at what the game is about.

.. if you vote for the game or leave feedback! I want to deliver a great game and I put all my trust in the people wanting to play it. This is the first release for me and the people who contributed to the game.

Current Progress

I'm working on the last chapter of the game. The 4 chapters will make about 6 hours of playtime. The biggest challenge is to make levels that are worth being the endgame of this game. This is exciting and a ton of work, but it'll be worth it.

I'm posting status updates regularly Twitter and IndieDB. So if you want to get a better picture about the development of the game, you are more than welcome to visit me!

Cheerful regards, Odrez

I'm really happy that this game got greenlight! It is so artistic and just beautiful. I played the demo and I liked the different feel of gravity it gives you, as if you were jumping around on the moon. It's a lot of fun to be able to run fast and jump really high like you were almost flying.

WOOOH the game has been greenlit! I don't know how to thank you all for this. This is more than exciting. I already got half of last chapter done, so watch out for updates. Is wish I can finish this as soon as possible but I want to give it the time it deserves to be polished. All your feedback really helped to motivate me. Thank you.

I need this

@Plump4Trump Hi! Yes, you'll need to rotate the camera to get to different areas. In the reddit thread (latest announcement) we also discussed about possibilities to improve the camera control. I want to implement some of these ideas to make controlling the camera more comfortable. Some of the suggestions may help with motion sickness. Until then, you can try lowering the camera speed with the +/- keys to see if it changes at least the intensity. Cheers!

I get a little motion sick - do all the levels feature rotation around the character?

Tolle Sache! ... Weiter so! :D <3
