Description
Have you ever heard about the Toymaker?

Toymaker is an RPG that takes place in a dark, snow-filled world, where life is harsh and the people living there have become hard and cold. In this place, the darkness has eyes, the winter wind whisper with a piercing voice and the frost hungers for warm flesh.

In this game you take on the role of Pale, a goat herder, equally feared and shunned by your own people. When you were a child, the Toymaker came for you, and you made him go away, made him flee up into his mountain, and in all the years since then, he hasn’t been seen again.

But lately strange things have begun to happen. The animals around the foot of the peak have started to move closer and closer to the village.

The midwinter night will soon be here once more.

  • Traverse a dark, twisted world unlike anything you’ve ever played before. Face creatures made from humans strangest dreams, and meet crafty gnomes and proud reindeers.

  • Battle weird things created from darkness and light, in a world where healing is never fast and wounds take a long time to mend.

  • Make choices that affect the people in this world. Everyone can die, even you. Every path affects your characters, shaping their story.

  • How much will you sacrifice to see the end of your journey?

This game is a three year long labour of love. I’ve made everything myself, from graphics, to design and music. I love it, and hopefully you will give it a chance so you might love it too.

Toymaker uses the classic RPG maker 2003 engine as the stone to carve its saga on. Polish and breaking it, until something unique was made.

Thank you for your time.

you have my vote, original, in a unique setting, surprisingly dark themes, possibilities for multiple endings, surely a shining gem to become part of the RPG Maker Library, i am sure of it, good luck to you and watch for the day that i do a review/let's play about it.

This looks really great; It tickles the hell out of me to see original assets! I'll definitely be keeping an eye on your game.

I gave the game a wary vote because I can't tell if it's going to be good until I actually play it and witness the story for myself, but I am indeed a sucker for worthwhile RPG maker games, especially the ones that get dark, like Corpse Party, Ib, and Mad Father.

I'm hoping to see this reach completion and move me like those games did!

Not too bad. Only thing I'd change is Pale's name and make it "Ashen". It's essentially the same implication but sounds better.

I don't know why people hate RPG maker so much.
Some people have a story to tell, but just dont have the know-how on how to program their own games. Engines like RPG Maker help with that.

Although I don't particularly like the graphics, it does look unique from other games, which I give credit for. Also, there aren't too many dark / gloomy RPGs out there.
The premises sounds very interesting! And I do enjoy a good story!

I would love to give this a try. You got my vote. :D
