----- Current Version: 1.1 -----

----- Description: -----
The dragons of Skyrim are getting tougher. Seems just like yesterday when you have slain your first typical dragon. But today, they are stronger. Blood, Frost, Elder and Ancient dragons roam the skies, with their vibrant colored scales which are tougher than ever.
But your armor isn't. For it was created with the weak scales of a typical brown dragon.
But it is about to change now.
The tougher dragons will now drop higher quality scales upon their death, which you can use to create tougher and prettier dragon armor.

This mod contains 5 sets of new variations for dragonscale armor: Blood, Frost, Elder, Ancient and Alduin's.
Mod works with both male and female characters and has been updated with shields.
All the sets are craftable, just like any other armor, and require dragon smithing perk. All the pieces can also be upgraded at the workbench.
If you are having troubles getting the regular scales, you can smelt the new ones at the smelter.

To see the armor values of the items, check out the last picture.

----- Version History -----
v1.10 - *Added a legitimate way to obtain Alduin's Scales (At High Hrothgar)
v1.10 - *Reduced weight of Alduin's Scales
v1.10 - *Added shields for all armor variants, 5 total

v1.02 - *Changed the name of the scales for better sorting
v1.02 - *Added option to smelt the new scales into the regular ones

v1.01 - *Fixed the bug which made the armor invisible

v1.00 - *Initial release

----- How to get: -----
It's simple. You kill a dragon, you will get a corresponding scales. For instance, Elder dragons will give you yellowish scales. You will then have to craft them at the forge/anvil in to armor.

To get Alduin's scales, you must travel to High Hrothgar and look for a button above the supplies chest. If you have completed the main quest, you will recieve what's left of the world eater.

You can also watch this little preview, as it also explains how to get the Alduin's armor at this point: 1:07 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qF5NJ5YLb5s

Maybe. Maybe not. Depending if they change the drop list of dragons or not.

Will this conflict with other colored dragonscale armor mods?

@Gaussman1
Frost dragon is a little blue-ish maybe?

if only there was a blue dragon, blue dragonscale armour halleluya (don't know how to spell it) that'd be awesome.

See, that is constructive feedback that I appreciate very much, thank you.
There are some things to keep in mind. First of all, the armor value scales with your amor skill. So the difference will be greater than just 6 points. The values you see in the table are just the base values in game terms. Now, also imagine if you upgrade and enchant it.
Second of all, the game is not over when you defeat Alduin, obviously. It can still be better than many other armors the player may have.
Finally, for most people, the look means a lot.
I am just providing the opportunity to have those armors in the best possible lore friendly and convinient way. For free.

Well it really doesn't matter having alduin scales if you can only craft the armour set after killing alduin, when you probably already have enchanted dragonscale armour or something like it. But if you already have strong dragonscale armour, why would you just make entirely new set just for the looks and for like what? +6 armour rating? Hell, that's not smart man, at least if you ask me.
