Goal
The Goal for this achievement is to "win the game, also not crafting 112 or more Items by Hand".
Since the main goal of Factorio as a whole is to automate everything, this can also be said as "While only crafting 111 Items, make it so you don't need to handcraft ever again."

Things for this you will (absolutly) need are (in order):
  • Working power
  • A Lab
  • A basic Assembler
  • An advanced Assembler
  • Oil production
  • The highest Assembler

After this you just have to look out that you don't craft something by accident :D
Calculations
For every point in the list we need a certain number of hand crafted things.
Working power
For working power we need
  • A pump (8 crafts, 5 for 2 Green Circuits + pipe+ gear + pump itself)
  • A Boiler (3 crafts, furnace+pipe+ boiler itself)
NOTE: You can use your premade Furnace to skip out on 1 crafting, be sure to smelt everything you need for a basic Assembler beforehand, or you will make another Furnace! (thanks to Kitsunerune)
  • A steam Engine (11 crafts, 5xGear+5xPipe+ Engine itself)
  • An electric pole (3 crafts, 1xCable+1xWood+ pole itself)

This comes down to 24 hand crafted items already.
This step costs 26 Iron Plates and 4 Copper Plates. (and 1 wood)

A Lab
For this we need the Lab. I'm including the 10 science packs we need to the Assembler aswell though.
  • 10 Green Circuits (25 crafts)
  • 10 + 10 iron gears (20 crafts)
  • 4 transport belts (4 crafts)
  • 10 red science Packs (10 crafts)
  • The lab (1 crafting)

This comes down to 60 craftings.
This step costs 56 Iron Plates and 25 Copper Plates.

A basic Assembler

A basic assembler does many things for us. It needs
  • 3 Electronic Circuits (8 crafts, have one copper wire spare)
  • 5 Gears (5 crafts)
  • Itself

This comes down to 14 Craftings.
This costs 22 Iron Plates and 4.5 Copper plates, so get 5 :D

An advanced Assembler

The next big step. With this we can FINALLY build Miners and steam engines.
We have all the ingredients (or can make them in our assembler), so we just need to ducttape it together :)

This is 1 Craft.
To get to this assembler you need 110 Red science packs and the cost of the Assembler, which amounts to 242 Iron Plates 114.5 Copper Plates.

After this step you can build miners and it doesn't matter what needs which ressources as much anymore (as you don't have to get them yourself.)

All in all, until getting electric Miners, you need 242+22+56+24= 344 Iron Plates and 114.5+4.5+25+4 = 148 Copper Plates and 1 Wood.

Oil production

To make mostly everything mid/late game, we need Oil. We need Oil for the 6 ingredients Assembler aswell.
Sadly, the Oil refinery is a 5 ingredients recipy, so we need to waste precious time crafting it ourself. Work sucks.

This is one craft

The highest Assembler

We don't need to craft this by hand. Its only listed here, because now we can truely craft EVERYTHING with assemblers (or cook with furnaces).

All in all, there are 100 strictly required hand crafts. (If I didn't miscalculate somewhere)

This means you have 11 crafts that you can choose to do.
If you are not the patient kind, this means you can savely make 5 iron Axes (2 crafts per), but I don't recommend it.
Playthrough
I recommend Peaceful mode for this. We don't want to craft Ammo and Turrets.
Tip: Change your key for crafting to something else, so you don't accidentally craft something. (Thanks Acuru)

Start where all ressources are pretty close. We don't want to walk much (lazy, remember))
This is my start, has iron copper and coal close, stone a little to the north.
I had liked it a little less forest-y though.

Start by getting everything we need for a Power setup.

I set the miner down on Coal, misused the furnace as a Chest and let it get 50 coal and emptied the furnace ever so often.

Then I set the miner and the furnace down in the iron field and gave both 50 coal.
Then you can Idle for some minutes :D
(In fact, i wrote this Guide in that time)

Pro tip: If you set your miner down where Coal and another ressource overlap, it will let you stay Idle longer, since it now randomly uses up the coal aswell. Saves time in making the actual plate in the end.

This is after getting Power and the Lab. (For a reminder, 85 crafted Items already)

Built one Assembler, 99 Crafted Items.
HINT: Build a few Iron Axes, so you can meaningful mine yourself or clear away trees :)

I'm going to research the 4 part Assemblers as fast as possible, from there its cakewalk.

You should know how to proceed from here, I'm not giving out how to build factories ^^

End
Thank you for reading.

If you have anything to add, or want something edited, just say so and I will look into it :)
This is also my first Guide ever, so I'm open to suggestions!

Hope you have fun grinding this stupid achievement!

It should still work, the general concept hasn't changed. Not sure how much leeway there is though

i do think this works. still (unless you count the part with the axe)

Yes, obviously. This guide outlines what you need to craft at minimum and how many crafts each item takes. It is outdated a long time now.

I'm guessing one way of beating this is by getting a assembler then make it craft stuff so it doesn't count as hand crafting like shoving the materials into a assembler to make some pumps you need for oil

Iron Axes don't exist anymore (thankfully), but they did stack to 20

The real guide: Do all the calculations yourself, ya lazy bastard!

Yea, or you can unbind all the crafting keybinds. How you don't make a mistake isn't really the focus in the guide lol There is also a guide for a later version by someone esle, which is very similar to this one. Not sure if that tells you about such things.

To make it easier for you, you can also disable crafting entirely with /permissions once you have done the mandatory crafts :) This will make sure you don't make a mistake and craft stuff and mess up your achievement...
