Description
When interacting with containers, move the inventory and container windows so they don't obscure the area near the player.

This is a purely client-side mod and should be compatible with all other mods.

*** TL;DR: Starbound v1.1 saves your inventory window location and puts the container window 4 pixels to the right. This mod changes 4 pixels to 160 pixels, which means you must manually move the inventory window to the left ONCE ***

Starbound v1.1: The devs have quietly changed the way window placement works: The game now seems to remember where you place your inventory window and container windows are positioned relative to the right edge of the inventory window. Unfortunately, the inventory window is reset to the center when you exit and re-enter the game world.

I'm going to call that a BUG in Chucklefish's code--and because of it, you must now move the inventory window to the left manually, once every game session. And given that bug, this mod still functions identically as before--creating a 160-pixel space between the inventory and container windows.

"My tooltips are cut off... can you fix these too?"

I may already have :) Please see the UI Tweak Collection here:

--

"But you can already do this?"

Yes, you can move the windows manually--but they reset every time you interact with a container or merchant.

"I want to change the gap size..."

Go to the Starbound Community Mod version and follow the customization instructions:

Then it must be an combatibility problem with another mod.
I just know that unsubscribing this mod did fix my starbound ;)

@Solzucht, what do you expect an update to do? Currently the mod is still working and makes a gap like this: https://i.imgur.com/QZZSz8U.jpg

gonna follow this mod, see if an update comes anytime soon :)

@Mellygion:
Now that you mention it, apparently the one in Chucklefish forums version is still using the old methods - that's why it's not working.

The one uploaded in Steam Workshop uses the same bringAdjacentWindowGap as you do. Maybe Lunchghost want to update it.

I made little changes in "interface.config.patch", if it didn't work, now it should.

Copper, there can be many reasons why your custom version doesn't work. For example you may not have 2 same versions of the same mod, so you need to unsub from workshop file too. Then put it in mods\ folder in right place.

160 is not enough on a 1920x1080 - tried the custom version you link, but just cuases a crash.
tried to make it 320 (double of 160) - but the script/mod does not work with 1.3.2
Is this something that modifies the character creation panel/window UI?

I don't know why people keep saying it's not working. Doesn't anyone read the description? :|

It clearly says,

This mod changes 4 pixels to 160 pixels, which means you must manually move the inventory window to the left ONCE . ... The devs have quietly changed the way window placement works: ... Unfortunately, the inventory window is reset to the center when you exit and re-enter the game world.

It's not working for me either.
