Description
When interacting with containers, move the inventory and container windows so they don't obscure the area near the player.

This is a purely client-side mod and should be compatible with all other mods.

*** TL;DR: Starbound v1.1 saves your inventory window location and puts the container window 4 pixels to the right. This mod changes 4 pixels to 160 pixels, which means you must manually move the inventory window to the left ONCE ***

Starbound v1.1: The devs have quietly changed the way window placement works: The game now seems to remember where you place your inventory window and container windows are positioned relative to the right edge of the inventory window. Unfortunately, the inventory window is reset to the center when you exit and re-enter the game world.

I'm going to call that a BUG in Chucklefish's code--and because of it, you must now move the inventory window to the left manually, once every game session. And given that bug, this mod still functions identically as before--creating a 160-pixel space between the inventory and container windows.

"My tooltips are cut off... can you fix these too?"

I may already have :) Please see the UI Tweak Collection here:

"But you can already do this?"

Yes, you can move the windows manually--but they reset every time you interact with a container or merchant.

"I want to change the gap size..."

edit:
it seems it is not the size but the containers FU brought along ...
any idea why and if it would be possible to fix it?

this works fine for me (SB 1.2.1) after i move my main inventory to either side, thanks :)

could you look into larger containers please? Sizes greater than 100 seem to ignore the mod and open directly on top of my main inv. ...

Can confirm this as well, uninstalling ui mods that may or may not conflict due to changes to the main window dont seem change this either.

it doesnt work, only my inventory window remembers its possition, the chest always opens over my inventory window
btw when it did work, the chest always opened way over to the left or right rather than where i left it, wich was right beside my inventory (i keep it in the middle.)

oops, my bad haha. I meant to comment on another mod, lots of mods were messed up by the latest update :P and it was 2AM when I posted that thinking it was the other mod. Sorry for the inconvience
Lunchghost  [author] Dec 17, 2016 @ 1:51pm
@AnotherGuy, AFAIK this mod cannot cause that behavior. Are you sure it's this mod that's the culprit? :)

any chance of a 1.2 update? destroying a container with stuff inside drops two of the container(1 original,1 with stuff in it)
