Hello test subject, and welcome to science sphere 43. Find and take good care of your cube(s). If you lose one you will be fired..upon..by turrets..that kill you..untill you're dead.
Oh, my assistent Greg tells me that we're not allowed to do that to our test subjects.. Well in that case.. I'll just fire you.. out.. into space, so.. good luck with that.

Anyway, remember, we're in space.. I've gone ahead and installed a window for all of you non-believers. Look all you want just DON'T go shooting lasers out in there into the nothingess even though it may sound like a fun idea.
We had a test subject do this a few weeks ago and three days later there were 342 alien battleships parked outside the science sphere complaining that one of us had shone something in one of their eyes, causing an intergalactic space-crash.

And for the last time! keep out of the airducts!

You make a good point about the trade-off between linear play vs not being bypassable. It's a tricky challenge I'm tackling in my own map (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=71738153 if you want to try it).

There's definitely a fine balance to be struck.

Heh, you're right. Just figured it out myself. Guess I failed in my plan to make it as 'un-skippable' as possible. For now I'm okay with this though since this way also still involves a fair bit of thinking, it's not like you can grab the cube and be done with it. Maybe I'll change my mind in the future, but for now I'll leave it as is.

Thanks for pointing it out though, appreciated!

Fun! Interesting note: this level can be completed without fetching the second cube. Try bringing the laser cube to the button across the goo and proceed from there :)

As for the 'failing' door mechanic, it's actually an unintended byproduct of shooting the laser out into 'space' all that does is activate the dropper (somewhere else in the map and unaccessible) you see in the picture above, and I guess that somehow makes it go open and close a few times before settling down correctly.

Also, yeah, positioning the laser cube is a bit awkward as of now but again not impossible.. hmm.. may as well change it right now anyway :P

Again thanks for the feedback!

Christopha: NO! you stay out of the airducts, what'll happen if you don't is you'll die up there and we'll be stuck with an awfull smell for weeks.

Alex: Thanks for the feedback, I know this one is pretty linear and fairly easy, especially if you know where to look. This map was more of a test for myself to see if I could make an un-bypassable map.. which has a very high possibility of making it extremely linear as you found out. I'm working on a new one as we speak which should be a bit less linear but still only have a few inteded ways of solving it.
The lightbridge, yeah I could possibly set a better angle for the panel but I'm pretty okay with the way it is now, if anything else big comes up I'll update then.

I know that you can get to the exit door but as you noticed yourself, it's fine since you can get back and it's closed unless the button is activated.

Nice aesthetics.. but I didn't enjoy it too much, felt like I was on rails. It wasn't trivial to do, but it wasn't challenging. The "failing" door turn mechanic is interesting, how did you do that?

The angled lightbridge is a bit awkward to jump from and positioning the laser cube is a bit awkward so close to water. Those bits could be improved. Also I would try and use some lights around your features so that the ant lines are not such a mess.

BTW, there is a way into the exit room from the start. But it's ok because the exit door is shut and you can still get back.
