The Wanderer's Tale

Follow the Wanderer's Tale and learn of his fate. Explore an open-ended quest and solve the puzzles of a mid-sized dungeon, featuring three specially crafted bandit encounters, and culminating in the resolution of the fate of the Wanderer and his one true love. There are no quest markers and no obvious quest objectives. Only the finest of adventurers will see this story to its very end.

To begin the quest, fast-travel to a location and wait for a courier, such as Whiterun. Please forgive any rough edges. See the book titled Notes on the Wanderer's Tale made available after completing the quest for a quick post-mortem.

Please leave your thoughts and comments, both those that reflect well and poorly upon the project, below. Constructive criticism will go a long way towards helping me perfect my next project.

I see the same as dreamstud... Has ANYONE figured this out? I even jumped all the way to the bottom. No luck there either. Had to re-load a save. Are we looking in the wrong area? Is there something we're not seeing? It's probably something that I'm gonna feel retarded for not noticing...

I will check and see what I can find Lun4tic. Thanks for the hint.

looking down, the only place I see is to go is the ice filled turnel and I have looked everywhere in there and can't find anything

I didn't plan on supporting this mod (it's the first I ever wrote, and pretty rough as you can tell), but if you're spending the time to play it I'd hate to leave you guys in the dark. It's been a while, but I believe with the ring, you're able to uncover the body of the wanderer in Drywell Mine. From inside the shaft, you'll be able to look down and see where to go next.

If you happen to return to write another comment, please let me know what threw you off the trail. I'm actually planning to redo the entire thing and include it in a larger storyline, so any information would be helpful. You can also drop me a private message any time you want!

When those ideas failed I thought that maybe it was in the mine with the belongings that he left behind. So I went to Karthwasten because it was the mining community north of the stone, looked on both mines and didn't find anything and said clearly that he was leaving his things in the mine. So I thought that since they were going east when the book said south that I needed to check out the mine to the west of the stone, Lefthand mine, but still did not find anything in the mine. The only other mine in the area is over run with forsworn and he would have no reason to pass the stone while going after the caravan but I looked anyway and found nothing.

Yeah I had the same idea and also found the knapsack. I have figured out that it is just part of the basic wagon side so it is a dead end. I also thought that the jornal scrap that is found with the keys might be a clue as to what needs to be done next. Obviously the climbing could mean that you need to go get the ring before advancing any further, and it is a good ring, but if that is the case you don't get a clue to the next step with the ring. I also thought it might mean you need to do some climbing in the mine but if so I have been unable to find what you need to climb to.

Passed what I assume is the remnants of the burned caravan described in the book several times. Finally decided to check and see if the key is there... I can see a satchel, but cannot access it... Can ANYONE help? (Seeing as the author of the mod doesn't seem to follow this discussion...)

Has anyone found the key yet? I've figured out that the Wanderer was originally from Winterhold, moved to Morthal, then died in the mine. Have the gate key and the odd key. Got the ring. Can't get last key... Please don't let this be a dead mod that some guy wrote to piss us all off... :-(

Reading comments and it helped me get 2 keys in shown mine. It opens one door but not second door. Key used to get ring. Used cheat to check second door area and can not activate coffin. The area next to it has three skelatons and could not kill. Did not save this as might mess up quest. I guess need to find shield or is it in coffin? Key to second door were is it?? Will keep looking but hope quest and game not bugged. Please over look spelling errors.
No spell check. Any help would be great.
