Simoom's Galactic Dress Code is a comprehensive NPC appearance overhaul containing exhaustive changes to the character macro architecture. It is made with the following goals:
  • Removal of Ugly Props - Simoom's Galactic Dress Code removes some of the most hideous props found in the game, so you'll never see them again.
  • Utilization of All Assets - Minus the ugly props it removes, Simoom's Galactic Dress Code uses every asset currently available (including many exclusive assets not used in vanilla) to create a true sense of life and variety in NPC appearance.
  • Variety with Distinction - Although Simoom's Galactic Dress Code significantly increases the number of possible prop combinations, it aims to do so while retaining the distinctive look and feel of each class of NPC's. The primary uniforms for most NPC classes remain intact, and only props deemed appropriate for respective NPC classes are allowed.
  • Hunting for Beauty - Simoom's Galactic Dress Code is structured such that the more beautiful/exotic NPC models, clothing, and props spawn more rarely (and some rare combinations look REALLY good). This creates a new minigame, as finding that perfect look for your valued crew positions may just be worth investing your time in!

Meet the New Faces of Rebirth

Possible Faces - Simoom's Galactic Dress Code opens up all available face models to NPC macro generation (including several EXCLUSIVE faces not used anywhere in vanilla)...
  • The Gents - Three male facial models have been added to the macros of all NPC classes, including one unique (Falk Borman), one semi-unique (used only on "Argon Generic"), and one exclusive ("Old Guy") not used in vanilla. Additionally, two NPC's who previously only have one facial model assigned ("Argon Generic" and "Argon Farmer") now have access to all 7 facial models.


  • The Ladies - The two "space grandma" facial models have been removed (this was done in character_macros.xml, not in the materials library like NoMoreGrandmasInSpace[www.nexusmods.com]), and three unique models were made available to all NPC classes (Karen Stringer, Yisha Tarren, and an exclusive "African" head model not used in vanilla). Note that care has been taken to make sure no clipping issue occurs with Yisha's hair; if you notice anything out of place, let me know.

Possible Props - Simoom's Galactic Dress Code also significantly increases possible prop selection, all while removing some of the most hideous props from the game!
  • Banned - These props are hereby banished, by decree of Simoom Almighty, for the crime of being butt-ugly:


  • Available - These props have been deemed worthy and are allowed to proceed. Custom-tailored class availability. Contains exclusive Navy Cap not used in vanilla.

Captain's Uniform Showcase:
  • Military Captain's Uniform
    Contains two exclusive (pure black and light grey) male uniforms not used in vanilla.
    Rarity: Common
    Props: Visor (M/F), Glasses (M), Shade (M), Mohawk (M), Navy Cap (M)



  • Civilian Captain's Uniform
    Contains 3 color variants for each male uniform.
    Rarity: Uncommon
    Props: Visor (M/F), Glasses (M), Shade (M), Mohawk (M), Quilt Hat (M), Collar (F), Hood (F)



  • Elite Uniform
    Rarity: Rare
    Props: Visor (M/F), Shade (M), Glasses (M), Mohawk (M)

@Hyperion Actually it's changed by mod Give Me More Clothes Please.
I handled it locally. The only thing to do is to change sections for architects.

I like this mod. Not so many clones in the game.
However I liked old architects style. Possible to bring it back with this mod? As an option maybe?

Hi there! I know it's not related to your mod, but Yisha in my game is sitting very far forward in her chair and is clipping the monitors. I was just wondering if you knew how to access Yisha's cordinates so I can move her? I figured I would ask here since your mod updates/changes her and your mod is great! =)

@Simoom Hey! thank you for your answer, very apreciated.
I already did it, removed the Yisha's head and body (just removed), and her spacesuit, but i realised that there are not suited bodys for female defense officer, so removing Yisha's spacesuit make the female DO's to be invisible, only head showed. So i dig a bit in the game cat's, (well took me about 3 days) and found a female defense officer proper suit, so i changed it for this one: "assets/characters/argon/bodies/ch_ar_f_complete_swat". The only draw back is that most of the female DO's look the same, but since there are not many options, is acceptable to me. My problem was that i was using your mod for long time, and i got to a point that Yisha was everywhere, and this was a game breaker for me.

@Mariouzs - Yes, if you have some technical know-how (it's not too hard to figure out how to read the mods' codes once you examine the xml files), you can download the Nexus version of this mod and go into the files and remove Yisha's model from the list of possibilities.

Is there a way to not use Yisha's model & cloth for others NPC's? Like me to be unique.

Hyperion - Hey there! Yes, this is a modeling issue that's unfortunately beyond my control (without modding the game's mesh itself). Yisha's model appears to be tweaked in an unique way for the specific character itself on top of assigning just the NPC model (so giving random NPC's her face doesn't apply the proper mesh). I am not sure why Egosoft did things this way but that's just how it is. :/ That said, aside from some clipping issues (hair & eyelid), the problems aren't too severe in my opinion, so it's an acceptable tradeoff given how little variation there are in the characte rmodels.

NPCs with the Yisha haircut seem to have a lack of propper eyelid control

just 'more cloth please' and one that changes the copilot only, like i said it doesn't cause any issues in game just thought you would like the minor bug report tbh :)
