Description
Newer version available on the Nexus

The latest version cannot be hosted here. It requires SKSE, as well as another mod that you can't get on steam. The only place to get the latest version is from PorroOne's own post on the Nexus: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15775/?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This amazing mod lets you craft a ring at the Skyforge in Whiterun that allows you to fly! -
with new custom animations to support it!

I did NOT make this - this excellent piece of work was created by Porroone, from the Nexus, who graciously granted me permission to post it here so that we can expand the BETA testing to a larger audience.

--------------------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT - There is something to consider before installing this mod, it REQUIRES you to manually edit the SkyrimPrefs.ini, found in the Skyrim folder. (Inside the folder tha contains the Data folder, there is also a Skyrim folder - the ini file is in there.)
-------------------------------------------------------

At the bottom of the Skyrimprefs.ini file add the following two lines:
[Havok]
fInAirFallingCharGravityMult = 1.35

(For people having trouble finding their way around their own computer:
Go to c:/program files/steam/steamapps/common/skyrim/skyrim/SkyrimPrefs.ini
Just open SkyrimPrefs.ini with notepad and add those two lines to the bottom of the page exactly as shown, save and close. (64 bit systems use program files (x86) instead, if you installed to a non-default location, you should know where it is, because there is no way for us to know)

If you do not edit the file, or do it wrong, this mod WILL NOT WORK the manual change is absolutely required.

Below is the artist's post as taken from the Nexus - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=15775
(Please follow the link to leave an endorsement or leave the author a kudos!)

Update V0.3:
Added modulable speed, meaning if you press sneak you will fly half the speed and if you press sprint you will double the speed, plus it plays a cool animation for it :) (Warning with this last one, increases the chance of CTD).

Update V0.2 :
Changed from 1 ring to 4 crafteable rings, one without effects, with fire effects, ice effects and shock effects (check the image section).
Added 5 seconds of "No fall damage" after you remove the ring.
Added compatibility with Vampire races.

---------------------------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT NOTE: To switch between flying rings, make sure you unequip the one you have first, then equip the other one, otherwise it wont properly make the race change, and your character will get stuck on the flying race.
---------------------------------------------------------------

This mod adds a ring, crafted at the skyforge on whiterun, which allows the player to fly playing custom animations. I am uploading this as a beta due to known bugs, and unknown which is why I need other people to test it and give me some feedback about bugs or conflicts with other mods.
I do know for sure this wont work with custom races, since in order to play custom animations I had to create a subrace for each race, so the script wont recognaise custom races. Until somebody figures out how to add new movement animations to the behavior files, this will remain this way (since its really the only way to do it hehe).
Known bugs are:

-The one I find more annoying is the T animation bug, sometimes you might find your player playing the T animation, wait a few seconds (in my case when the world ends rendering) and it will play the right animation. I really dont know how to fix this one, and its one of the main reasons im releasing this. I hope somebody knows the answer to this one.

-Then we get the ocassional CTD when you fly for a while, mostly due to rendering too many things in a short period of time (you get the same kind of CTD, if for example you do a modspeed and run at high velocity for a while, it will end crashing). Lowering your graphic settings will definetly prevent this one.

-You only collide with the world, meaning you can go through houses, rocks, cities, trees... this has something to do with the TranslateTo function im using to fly around, I think dragons have the same issue. Again if somebody knows a fix for this one, would be awsome.

Credits:
ALL credits go to Porroone, including all work, assets, the images and video!

From Porroone:
I would like to thank first all the people on the flying mod thread I couldnt have done this without you guys. I would also like to thank DarkenDe, for his continuous support and his ideas, I really couldnt have done this without you friend. Then to the Hologram, the creator of hkxcmd, without his work this couldnt have been possible, also, to SaidenStorm who's setup for 3dsmax to export animations helped me a lot. And the blame to bethesda for not giving us better tools to add/remove animations to the behavior graph, and we are stuck making this workarounds.
Credits to the SKSE team, thanks for making our life easier :D
Credits to Fore, for giving us a way to add new animations to the game.
I am giving full access to any of the assets I developed in this mod, to use on any mod or to improve this one :)

Did you catch that last line folks? Very important, and quite a gift to us all - any alterations or additions that I make to this mod will also be freely available (and shared with Porroone, of course.) - ~Q~

From Porrone:
"SKSE beta is now out with all the functions I need to make this work properly, fixing almost everything, from collisions to the T animation, now I can finally use Fore's idles to play animations, so no need for a custom behavior or raceswitching, which means this mod will become compatible with all the races."

For those reporting the known crash to desktop issues - they are due to the system not being able to handle loading that much graphics data that quickly - either turn down your graphics settings, or get more RAM

it doesn't work, it did what it said to do and nothing shows up at the skyforge.

The link is valid, that file is hidden. It requires SKSE, as well as another mod that you can't get on steam. That version has also been replaced as well actually. The only place to get the latest version is from PorroOne's own post on the Nexus: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15775/?

However, I will change the listing text anyway to avoid confusion.
