Map-a-Day #1:

My first test, includes a little of everything.*

*Not included but not limited to: Lasers, Companion Cubes, Emancipation Grills, Accelleration Gel, Gravity, Frankencubes, Laser Grids, and Relativity.

- Updated 5/8/12 with more betterness and less confusion.

From what I can tell the bouncy gel was for the turrets (one of them anyways).
The other turret can be taken out by just walking up to it with the light bridge.
It is an easy map, but I found it enjoyable.

nice chamber. I don't get what the bouncy gel was for though and the turrets were just unnecessary annoyances. I gues you had a different solution in mind.
Also the whole thing was a tad big

I was able to beat your level by only using the lightbridge. You made one flaw, the left turret can aim across the map, but it cannot shoot that far. I used the lightbridge to walk all the way to the other turret, killed it, then went back to the wall. I shot the portal so that the lightbridge went up through the upperside of the portal, shot the other portal across the exit door, and I could walk across the map, right through the exit. If you want to ensure some puzzleness, at least tie the exitdoor to something, for example the button at the start.

I finished it, but I am not sure if that would count as a ninja solution. I guess it probably is, since i used only one cube and no gel.

Eh, I'm not too worried about it. I might investigate the issue but I remember Portal 1's maps being so awesome because they had a lot room for secret solutions.

The trick is figuring out a way to allow your players freedom to experiment but still prevent them from totally circumventing your carefully crafted puzzles. My map has been broken 3 times now, and I've fixed each problem so far. Secretly I hope someone will break it again.

Give the player too much power and they'll find a quicker, unexpected way to the end. That's why the game never throws too much at you at once.

Broke it. You can use the light bridge to grab the first cube behind the glass, and then carry it across to the exit and use it as a boost to jump to the end.
