Description
==============================================================================

==============================================================================
You came into possession an ancient artifact, and earned the favor of a deity from before space and time...

USEFUL INFO:
  • [NEW] English User Manual now available!
  • Modular installation package available on Nexus Mods[www.nexusmods.com].
  • Conquest & War in Rebirth (CWIR) users please download the compatibility patch from Nexus (resolves a conflict in Upkeep mission patches).
  • Ship pack and station mods users please use the Nexus Mods installation package + Ship Mods Menu Patch (under "Miscellaneous Files") to gain the ability to spawn custom ships.
  • Tired of all the NPC's looking the same? Check out Simoom's Galactic Dress Code, the most expansive NPC appearance overhaul for X Rebirth!

======================
The 'Goddess' Advantage
======================

Simoom's Lantern is the most expansive, feature-rich, and meticulously-coded cheat menu for X Rebirth. Not to be confused with alexalsp's CHEAT MENU, this mod was written from the ground-up with a very different vision in mind, combining powerful utilities with a depth of immersion, user-friendliness, and save game safety (sticking only to vanilla scripts and assets).

Do not mistake Simoom's Lantern for a mere cheat - this mod comes with a set of powerful tools to address several Egosoft oversights as well as common player complaints, making this a MUST HAVE companion for your adventures in X Rebirth! (even if you don't plan to actually cheat much...)

Feature Highlights
================

Below is but a small glimpse of what you can do with Simoom's Lantern! Please refer to the User Manual for the full list of features & helpful tips!
  • Any Ship, Any Station - If it's in the game files, you can have it!

  • Deployable Weapon Platforms and Landmark Stations - Build impenetrable fortresses with FULLY FUNCTIONAL weapon platforms! Decorate your space with habitations, highway stations, and pirate dens!

  • More NPC Shipyards - Build shipyards and hand them over to the NPC to create more economy sink! Complete with correct manager aiscript assignment, so they will build capital ships on the clock!

  • Secure the Galaxy... with Faction Patrols - Summon faction patrols to secure valuable sectors. Never deal with annoying combat messages again!

  • Civil War Behavior - Make the Teladi Union deal with those pesky pirates! Place HoA and PMC at peace! Toggleable.

  • Canteran Plot Stations - Replace the missing plot stations in your game, or benefit from them in a non-campaign start!

  • Disable Hostile NPC Stations - Permanently disable NPC stations, with the option to easily restore them!

  • Reveal the Galaxy - Instantly open the entire map, with fully-unlocked station info galaxy-wide!

[ CAUTION ]
Do NOT attempt to fully remove NPC stations (ones that are already there when the game starts) by claiming it, then issuing "Self-Destruct". These stations are part of the map, and the game will simply respawn them during the next load. Please see the mod development topic[forum.egosoft.com] for details.

Known Incompatibilities
====================

The Steam version of this mod is the Complete Package, and may have compatibility issues with some mods. If you must use a conflicting mod, please use the Modular Installation Package[www.nexusmods.com] from Nexus Mods instead (this allows you to remove any XML patch you don't want):
  • CHEAT MENU - This mod contains a large number of XML patches that will conflict with my files. Additionally there are a lot of overlapping features, so choose one or the other (my mod is recommended... see technical discussion[forum.egosoft.com] for details).
  • Xenon Hunt 3 - Contains conflicting patch files, allowing for similar functionality (though my patches do not add drone & cargo bay to Xenon ships, since rebalancing game asset is not the purpose of this mod). If you prefer Xenon Hunt's implementation, use the modular installation package from Nexus.
  • Hull 3x Skunk - Contains conflicting patch file, allowing for Skunk hull repair by the on board Engineer (my mod is recommended... see this post[forum.egosoft.com] for details).
  • RS Booster[www.nexusmods.com] (or any player booster mod) - Contains patch file for overtuning player booster.
  • Ultimate Fleet Overhaul (UFO) - DO NOT use this mod! It is very outdated and breaks vanilla capship jump scripts (among other things). Subsequently affects my mod's capital ship summon feature since it relies on vanilla jump command.

@Simoom - The nexus version doesn't seem to work. The steam version is the only one that the menu option appears. If I try the nexus version, it doesn't appear for no real reason. I have the patches for conquest, and sidebar extender. But it works just fine if I subscribe to the steam version, but not when I install it manually or through the nexus manager.

@Sapphire - It depends on the mod in question: you see, there's no way to automate this process. Ships added by each mod needs to be manually added to my mod's index. I did add support for a few popular ship mods by request last year; please see the add-on file "Ship Mods Menu Patch" on Nexus to see if the ship mods you use are on the list (you will need to use the Nexus version of my mod in order to apply this patch):

Does this mod support ships mod ships such as those here on the workshop? I can't seem to find them in any of the menus.

@Lestrade - This is intended behavior (since it makes boarding easier). However, you can use the version from Nexus and remove/modify the relevent XML patch if you don't like the modifications done to the Skunk (see the dev thread for details on what each of the XML patches do)

@KeillRandor - Hmm, that should be possible to do. I am still not sure when I'll have time to come back to XR but I'll add your comment to my list of requested features.

I wish there was a way to just reveal one sector (or a whole system) instead of the entire map...?

There is one little problem with this mod. It ups the Storage on the Skunk from 58 to 158 just by installing it. So you can hire 150 Marines instead of the normal 50.

Soldier212 - Not sure I fully understand your question - do you mean spawning them with full wares for production? I think there's something under "Station Management" for doing that?

Been some time since I used this mod and I have to say now it is a must have. It allowed me to actually progress through the campain past the anoyance of being stuck building stations and stuff to progress. You are to be commended for the service you did for my game experience.

hi love the mod, but cant the stations spawn fully equipped? takes ages for them to fill up for making ships?
