Description


Kilgazar's army has captured your village! It's time to take matters into your own hands! Battle your way through hordes of enemies. Learn and use powerful magic spells. Infiltrate the fortress to pass through the gateway to the dark underworld. Can you defeat the demon lord, Kilgazar, and free the land from his grasp?

Kilgazar is a turn-based strategy roguelike that pits you against hordes of enemies. Designed to play like a board game, it features a streamlined interface that makes the game deceptively simple to play while presenting a challenge to players. Blending strategy, planning, and a bit of luck, it takes more than sheer aggression to make it to the end and defeat the demon lord Kilgazar.


  • Choose to be a warrior, magician, rogue, or a team.
  • Single player and hotseat multiplayer modes.

@BrandeX: You're right, the client keeps track of the games it launches for card drops. However, if I want the game to notify Steam when it starts outside of the client, I'll need to utilize the API.

BTW, No coding is required to add trading cards. You don't even have to have games installed, much less run them, to get cards to drop. The Steam client just detects when it thinks a game is running and adds them to user inventories itself.

@Snuds R Us:Kilgazar is pretty much a finished project. There will be some coding to integrate Steam features like achievements and trading cards. I will also take a look around in the code to see whether other improvements or additions could be made in an attempt to make it a bit more unique. It was intended to be a casual roguelike with a streamlined interface that provides a challenge without having a lot of complexity.

@Bit Bot: Thanks for the input. I have realized that the board game visuals don't have very much appeal. Switching to a birds eye view similar to Warcraft II would require a great deal of rewriting and I won't be doing that for this game. I will definitely be keeping it in mind for future games though.
