Flyers equipped with the Homing Pigeon Leg Ring will automatically attempt to return to the specified, or the closest Homing Pigeon Flag owned by the tribe, in the event that the rider dies.

Simply place Homing Pigeon Flag(s) to act as rally points for flyers, and equip your flyers with the Homing Pigeon Leg Ring via the costume slot.

  • Send to Flag - Manually send a flyer to a specific flag.
  • Recall to Flag - Manually recall a flyer to a specific flag.
  • Set a default return flag per flyer - either a specific flag, or the closest tribe owned flag to the flyer.
  • Tribe Log support - Homing Pigeon notifications are recorded in the tribe log.
  • Rename Homing Pigeon Flags - handy to know which is which and where your flyer is flying to.

I truly feel terrible that Super Cell is constaltly breaking dev mods. Not only do they break them, they do not give them the tools to fix it via the dev kit till 2-3+ weeks afterwards.

It's just wrong in my opinion. They claim to want people to write mods, then turn out to be a mod makers worst enemy, demolising whatever they make. THEN ignorant gamers have the audacity to complain and get nasty when the mod you made for FREE for them was sabotaged by WC through no fault of your own.

I don't even know why you guys continue to make mods for us. I for one deeply appreciate it though. This game would not be anywhere near as fun or worth sticking with if it weren't for the mods.

Thank you.

Thank you for the kind words and support. Most importantly I wanted to say a big thank you for your patience. It's always frustrating when things break, especially for me, and you guys were very patient in waiting for me to resolve the issue.

Now I can get back to working on new features and working on a surprise integration for the mod ;-).

As an FYI, we use this on Nazca Skies map with Extinction Core and it works great.

@all Homing Pigeon v2.8.0 has been released. This release includes a number of bug fixes (most importantly a fix to the broken auto-return functionality), two new mod integrations, UI overhaul and support for new dinos. See the change notes for more info.

adding onto @jaargo2000, would it be possible to add a controller/pad, similar to the teleporter mod, which, when used, brings up a menu of current bracelet equipped flyers, so you can order flyers to return to somewhere from any position rather than placing flags everywhere, as well as, what jaargo said, commanding flyers to retreat after combat

@PommieGamer I know you have heard the requests for a land version of this and shot it down due to the chance of collision. However, I just started playing around with the mod kit and was looking at its power and limitations. I'm guessing at this point you did this with behavior blueprints?

Anyway. I was trying to like of how a mod to set guard points or return points would work. Well beyond my skill with the tool at this point, but it would be right up your alley. I was thinking of two possible "easy" mods. For a "Guard Post", a place that dinos would auto-return to after a combat when on neutral or aggrssive, a method of telling a dino to "follow" a flag using the built in path finding. The second was to make either a land route or patrol route, the dino "follows" a sequence of flags that the player must set up in advance and ensure the route is not blocked by terrain.

Thoughts? Would either work or be possible? Easier than writing a pathfinding algorithm?

@all I have some good news, after working on the bug today with the latest dev kit (and jet lag to boot ) I believe I may have found the root cause to what broke auto-return. I have also prevented/reset hibernation at the appropriate points in the logic. So far initial testing inside the dev kit is going well. Tomorrow I will spend some time testing in game on a dedicated server and in single player as well. Fingers crossed v2.8.0 will be out soon. Will keep you posted as I discover more and double check my findings through testing.
