Ever set up a Civ 5 game and said 'I wish I could pick which city states I could play with' or 'I wish I could make all the city states Asian'? Well, I haven't been able to do that. Not yet anyway.

What I have done is made a bunch of mods that block certain city states from being played if you have selected one of the mods. E.G. If you select 'City States - European Only' ONLY European city states appear.
Great for custom games where you want a themed map and you get that one Asian city state in the middle of a desert surrounded by Egypt, Morocco, Babylon and Assyria! Sort of ruins the experience.

This probably will work with Vanilla and Gods + Kings and various DLC's, but due to the City State changes throughout the years not all of them will be covered. E.g. Jakarta and Edingburgh were city states in previous itterations of the game, but in various additions later in the game were removed.
I don't really intend to make mods for all versions of the games, but if you want to: MY DOCUMENTS, MY GAMES, CIVILIZATION 5, MODS, (Find the mod), OPEN THE 'citystateselection - ____' XML FILE (NOTEBOOK SHOULD WORK FINE) AND ADJUST THE FILES ACCORDINGLY.
It's pretty easy to do and shouldn't take more than 5 minutes at most.

This mod is really simple, it literally just tells the game to delete all other city states for the time it is active, and shouldn't be incompatable with any other mod. Of course, be wary when using this with any really big city state change mod, but even then it should be fine. If you're using mods that contain other city states you will have to go into the XML file in the MOD folder to change this. It won't identify the type automatically.

A first clue that the mod works is that under 'Advanced Settings' you'll see the scroller bar number for the number of city states will only go up to however many city states there are for that mod.
Some themes only have a few city states, the meditereanan and native amercian themes only have 5! So don't be too suprised when you can only have a few in the game.

Works perfectly fine single player, unsure about multiplayer as have not tested any of the mods, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Let me know!

Affects saved games? Crashes Civ.

Can I activate multiple 'City State Only' Mods? No.
This will crash civ, because the mods counteract eachother. If you really want a mix'n'match of citystates and their themes just go into the XML file in the MOD folder and change it from there.

Just activate one and set up a game!
