Demo v161128
  • The length of the multiplayer mode is more dynamic. The tails grows faster according to the number of players alive. This should make 1 v 1 situations less drawn out.
  • For now, the enemies have boar heads that are more in line with the rest of the characters, compared to the skulls used previously.

  • Now you can use game pads, mouse and keyboard to navigate menus and they are entirely interchangeable.
  • New images and updated descriptions for the different game modes.
  • Added a credits menu with links to our social media.

Amped-up the visual effects for:
  • The explosion when players die.
  • The sparks when teleport gets back off cool down.
  • The glow when teleport is off cool down.

  • Added one additional menu-music track.
  • Added music for the credits.
  • Added sounds for interacting with the menu.

Demo v160908
  • Improved hit boxes.
  • Improved laser collisions.
  • Experimental "warning system" implemented.

We're approaching the release of the game and we're going to set up a Steam Page for Cosmic Kites within the next month or so. Keep your eyes peeled!

Release date: Q1, 2017

"In a parallell universe far, far away, the gods of the kites has since the dawn of time been locked in an eternal struggle. Just kidding, there is no real story."

Cosmic Kites
is a colorful and particle filled local multiplayer arcade game, in which you strive to eliminate your opponents through cunning use of your fluffy tail.

In Cosmic Kites the players strive to avoid each other's explosive tails, all while attempting to trap one's opponents. Through the use of the teleportation-ability you may jump over trails and obstacles, get first to the power-ups and jump back, right in front of your enemies.

The last player alive is crowned winner and may now harass the losing players!

If you feel like pwning your friends isn't enough you may enter Cosmic Kites fully customizable Single Player Mode™ in order to test your skills, your endurance, and your sanity.

The game draws inspirations from modern classics like Snake, Tron and Achtung die kurve.

Cosmic Kites hosts an array of customizable options in order to add unique flavour to each fight; on your own, or on the couch with your mates (soon to be enemies).

  • Local versus mode for 2, 3 and 4-player.
  • Supports keyboard and gamepad input.
  • Infinite high score-hunting single player mode.
  • Lots and lots of really fancy particles.
  • 4 different enemies and obstacles.
  • Plenty of colours.
  • Several exotic power-ups (3, as of now).

  • Create your own game modes, with tons (not litterally) of customizable options.
  • More enemies and obstacles (10+ enemies and obstacles in total)
  • 4+ additional game modes, with plenty of customization (6+ modes in total).
  • More power-ups (8+ power-ups in total)
  • More in-game funky tunes and SFX.
  • Even more particles!

We’ve been working on Cosmic Kites for about seven months (as of August '16), hence the scope is not to create a massive behemoth of a game.
Instead we’re focusing on creating a small, solid and entertaining experience for 1-4 players.

Our intended pricing for the final product lies around € 5-7.

We’ve been working with several minor games in the past but this is our first attempt at officially releasing a game.

@robin, Great suggestion! we already have a game mode similar to that ;)!

Dont forget that you can download the demo and play it with your friends. We will probably also update the demo pretty soon when we have adressed the feedback from DH masters!

Played it at dreamhack Malmö, it was very fun. I think a gamemode with a bigger map and with lines that don't disappear should be added.
