Spektrum Dx6,7,8,9 etc Setup for LiftOff
By deeznuts4298
I followed this game since day one of announcement and finally had the chance to use it myself. I got it minutes after release and quickly saw that there were many issues with the configurations on the dx8 for use with the game. So, here is this guide to help others get going. First off the dongles that i have seen work are the interlink that's used with RealFlight7.5 and a usb dongle that works with all sims. The link to that will be below. I use the setting for RF7 on the switch located on the usb dongle. Once all drivers have been installed, run LiftOff. You will be prompted to do the initial controller setup. Make sure you have a BLANK MODEL selected and on MODEL TYPE that it's set to AIRPLANE. It will ask you if you want to reset, hit yes. (make sure model setup is correct in transmitter by pressing in the scroll wheel while powering up). Once in the menu to configure input hit CALIBRATE and move all sticks completely in all directions then hit END CALIBRATION. You will then be asked to set all channels, eg. throttle, yaw, pitch, roll. Go ahead and click the button SET THROTTLE and move it up and down, then next and continue to the others and once you set roll as the last one, hit done. You're all set! make sure the input display moves accordingly to the stick you move. Move throttle, quad goes up and down. Move rudder, quad turns left and right...so on and so forth. Now, if you want to set the switches for flight mode, camera noise, etc. Hit the BUTTONS tab and click on the one you want to set. So say you want to set the flight mode switch click on the tab where it says FLIGHT MODE and then flick the GEAR switch or whichever you want it to set to. Do this to all the buttons you want to set then hit SAVE AND EXIT at the bottom. There ya go! You're ready to fly!

Have fun flying! Here is the link to the dongle i'm using. Choose the US Warehouse or CN Warehouse according to your location.

Im having trouble with my pitch and roll. They seem to be mixed up, but my throttle and yaw are working fine. Any fix for this? Im using DX8 and SmartPropPlus

Heyas, I use a male/male 2ch jack into the audio in on pc and into my dx8 and a prog called smartpropplus.

http://www.smartpropoplus.com/site/

Works pretty good, sometimes a bit jumpy, but def useable.

Just another option

I'm using an Arduino as a PPM to USB joystick using my Spektrum DX9
So I connect DX9 > Receiver > PPM to Arduino > Arduino to PC via USB > PC picks up arduino as Joystick, and all works great! I'll post a link to my website when I have the instructions done. But you'll be able to find instructions doing a google search

I was able to get this to work but not using the Phoenix RC dongle. After about 8 tries everything seemed to click.

"I had to use the taranis preconfiguration on Liftoff, and create a mix from the falp-gyro switch to the yaw stick to make the yaw work, now it flies properly"

@Golfox2

Can we please have more details here?

b0rsky yes i'm absolutely positive as i use it on my dx8, my friend on his dx9 and also me on the dx6 should should all work. It uses the RealFlight7 protocol which the sim needs
