New underground soundtrack and area
New underground area and soundtrack

We are very excited to show our latest update of Meet Norm! In this movie we've implemented a new soundtrack for the underground area. After Norm gets chased by the spider he will fall down a mole hole entering the underground area. We tried to give the underground soundtrack a bit of a creepy/groovy sound. We hope you guyz like it.

Besides the new soundtrack you can see a little bit of the underground area. It's not even close to finished, but you'll get a glimps. We are currently working on a giant mole who will hunt Norm down the underground tunnel. More mole action in our next update!

Meet Norms' new soundtrack and a lot more
New soundtrack

We are very excited to show our latest update of Meet Norm! In this movie we've implemented all our previous work. But with one big change, we've got music! With the help of Markus Görthofer (our new composer) we made a video with our new soundtrack and we love to know what you guyz think. Does it feel right? We are trying to create a kind of goofy fibe with Meet Norm.

So what's in this update?
  • The new soundtrack!
  • The beetle is walking around and attacking Norm
  • The spider is chasing and attacking Norm
  • The panic bar works. If Norm gets hit, his panic will increase
  • Norm can pick up rings. If he picks up 100 he get's an extra life.

Description
Meet Norm is a fun, wicked and challenging platformer that lets you explore Norms' world. Meet Norm is about a worm called Norm. Discover six worlds, get hunted by huge predators and keep Norm calm or he starts hyperventilating. We will try to challenge both casual and hard core players.

Features:

  • Panic System: Norm has a panic bar. If it reaches the max he will start hyperventilating. As the panic increases Norms' sight will decrease, he gets tunnel vision and starts shiffering. Influencing the gameplay
  • The Hunt: Be hunted during your exploration of the worlds. There will be one major boss in each world who will be hunting you during your exploration of the levels (7/8 each world).
  • Small in a Big world: Feel small in a very big world. We are trying to create the feeling that you are very small in a big world. Enemies and objects will look enormous.

Hi Orc, thank you very much for the compliments. We are currently developing in Unity / C++. The credits go to Angelo and Vince, they are responsible for the great work so far :). Next week I'll give an update with a new enemy and maybe show the updated panic bar. Thnx for you advice!

Hello there. I really like to art-style and particle effects that a currently implemented. I'm a developer myself and I have to comment on what a good job you have done so far. I would be sure to buy it. Also, I like the second panic bar the most, it fits the style better and what game engine/coding language was this developed in? Thank you, Tom.

Hey Sorenzo, it will be a button-mashing game. Jumping, shooting, sprinting, riding on vehicle creatures. The whole shabam :)

I kinda like the art style. I like anything that involves huge size disparities. And the wall-jump reminds me of the N-game, which kept me awake through high-school... :) I don't know what genre, exactly, the game is, but it could be fun. I wonder if there'll be puzzles or if it's just button-mashing.
