The Forgotten City is a unique experience: a murder mystery investigation in an ancient underground city. You'll travel through time, interrogate suspects, navigate moral dilemmas, fight new enemies, and solve puzzles that reward lateral thinking. It features an original orchestral soundtrack, over 1200 lines of dialogue, and multiple endings.

"The story here is, no doubt, the best of any Skyrim mod. It's so good, that it really reminds me of Blockbuster movies like Inception, Interstellar, and especially Edge of Tomorrow." MxR Mods

"Amazing... it's a super dynamic story... how the mod utilizes paradoxes and time loops is fantastic... one of the most thriling quests we've ever played..." BroDual

“An undeniably impressive undertaking.” PC Gamer

“The production values, for a mod, are completely ridiculous. The Forgotten City is a pretty big deal.” Kotaku[]

An original orchestral soundtrack by composer Trent Moriarty
Epic, sweeping, cinematic music. Check out the remastered version!

A beautiful, intricately detailed new city to explore
Discover secrets that are thousands of years old.

A haunting, non-linear story with several different endings
Your experience will depend on the decisions you make, as well as your character's individual history.

Challenging moral dilemmas with consequences
Whether you're a saint or a psychopath, or something in between, there will be repercussions.

Puzzles that reward lateral thinking
It will take more than brute force, or blind obedience to quest prompts, to achieve the best outcomes.

Are there any level requirements?

Do I need to have the other Skyrim expansions or other mods?
No. Only Skyrim is required.

Is it compatible with other mods?
Yes. It should be compatible with most other mods. The only known imcompatibility is Death Mountain 2.

Can I bring a follower?
This mod is designed to be played solo.

I found a bug! What do I do?
Check out the "KNOWN BUGS AND WORKAROUNDS" section in the discussions tab.

If you’re Level 5 or above, you’ll be approached automatically by a courier when you enter any city. Or, go to the "Forgotten Ruins" near Markarth.

This is a truly phenomenal piece of dlc. Absolutely loved it. Great voice acting, amazing story. Not just a go to the map marker and talk to someone quest. Actually lots to gain from doing some exploring and checking out the area yourself. Can't recommend this enough. Would love to donate if there's a link anywhere?

I saw this mod reviewed by grohlvana and I thought. . . OMG TALKING BOOKS AND NOTES! GREAT VOICE ACTING AND SEVRAL DIFFERENT ENDINGS TO THE STORY! the only thing that creeps me out is all the darkness. But i guess it still makes the mod better

Absolutely incredible! This is, hands down, the best story mod I've ever seen for any game I've played. The characters were well thought-out and believable, and the story was thrilling. This is a prime example of modding done right, which was obviously a labor of love. Keep up the great work!
