I know, this is not really a guide, but I was thinking that our wishes would be more visible here(I was thinking only at other players and to see more ideas, not at Gaben watching this and telling somebody to make the game how we want.) Basically I am going to put every wish that a player have, bad or good.

  • More melee weapons(like knives, hatchets and so on)
  • No more infinite fire weapons(you won't be able to get four or more assault rifles from only one, making the players use more weapons, not only "This kuel azz wepen with ze kod zkien")
  • More fire weapons(maybe more weapons that will be available in houses, like a hunting rifle in a hut or some WW2 weapons in a veteran's house)
  • More types of zombies(special infected and some special walkers like crawlers or something)
  • No more infinite ammo in these ammo stashes(so you will have to decide between sticking with your weapon, but no ammo, or with another weapon with full ammo). Instead of infinite ammo it will have a number of every type of ammo.
  • Different characters will have different stats(like faster, but easier to kill)

  • As a tank you can grab anything instead of magiccally getting a rock.
  • Instead of finding random gas cans everywhere you have to find a gas shop.

  • No more randomly reviving via rescueing through rooms.

I've seen them running around without heads in Realism mode and Headshot mutation. A bullet through the heart or aorta ought to make more difference to an infected lunatic than a bullet through the foot. They're supposed to be alive. Heart-shots should matter).
  • Bleed damage! Pistols and knives mostly cause bleeding. Shot infected should slow down, fall down and die, not continue at full sped until shot again then drop.
  • Damage proportional to muzzle energy.(See my weapon mods on the workshop).
  • Real rate of fire and magazine size.(Again, see my mods on the workshop and the comments about how the 50-rd mags were driving people nuts).
  • Lose the crosshair. Give us aim-down-sights on *all* weapons.
  • Make the laser actually show where the bullet or centre of pellet pattern will go, not just bounce around all over the place.
  • Fix the reload. The game should track whether the bolt's open or closed, whether there's a round in the chamber, whether there's a mag in the mag housing and how many rounds are in the mag *separately*, not go to "empty mag on gun, no round in chamber" every time you get interrupted!
  • Funny bullets: let us pick up a magazine of explosive or incendiary and choose to switch mags and use it or switch back to ball any time we want, rather than having to immediately use it up.
  • List of friends in-game: show what kind of server they're using.
  • Servers: let us block group servers we hate without having to leave the group.
  • Fix the pellet spread on the shotguns.(See the shotguns in my "Rufioh Nitram Remix" set for how much better the things would be with realistic spread. See theboxotruth.com for spread. Start with "original chapters" and read until you get the message, Valve!).
  • Another source for damage values: Brass Fetcher on youtube. Not only do you get cool super-slow-mo video of what bullets do to ballistic gel, but you also get a graph of energy transferred per inch. Use that as your source for damage done to each layer. Some research would be needed to figure out the conversion ratio for interior walls to inches of gel. For the Tanks, rather than having shotguns just do 85% damage, have the tank's first and last layers, wherever you hit it, be skin and damage to those layers not count, so it'd be better protected against turkey shot than against anything else and get almost no protection against a rifle round.
  • Friendly Fire: I understand why you have to check for zombies in the line of fire from the back of the player model, not from the muzzle of the gun, but PLEASE start only detecting whether we hit a team-mate from the FRONT of the player. At present, it's possible to shoot a team-mate who isn't even visible on the screen because he's STANDING BEHIND YOU.
  • Also, if there's a way to fairly reliably detect "The silly sod jumped into my line of fire" moments and not count them towards FF count for the campaign or towards average FF damage per campaign, that'd be great. I'm okay with it still hurting the silly sod. I just don't want to get blamed for it when he chases my pipe-bomb.

Light machine guns that can be reloaded, cuz why not.


and also radars, heat vision, jockeys are really annoying, need a way to find them so i can attempt to avoid them without have to be targeted.
