Cast yourself as manager of some of the filthiest, bloodiest stations in the world! Overcrowd: A Commute 'Em Up is a fast-paced arcade game set on the notoriously busy London Underground. Blending real-time strategy elements with a unique commuter flow mechanic, Overcrowd offers a frantic mish-mash of time pressure, strategic thinking and split-second choices.

Take on the role of tube manager in some of the busiest, filthiest stations in existence. Shift as many commuters as you can before you go bust.

Hire and fire your team of cops, medics, litter pickers and janitors. Order them to hotspots, and level their skills to suit your needs.

Face the unruly horde. Unique crowd-flow mechanic and commuter A.I. make for emergent gameplay that feels different every time.

Triumph over adversity! Commuter rage. Gastric flu. Rodent infestations. Just a few of the many dynamic events that will make your life – and your commuters’ – a living hell.

Overcrowd: A Commute 'Em Up is a good fit for Early Access. Because events and commuter behaviours are dynamic and subject to random variation, every time you play Overcrowd it feels a little different. Various incidents play into each other, and emergent challenges can... emerge. The game is in a solid place to continue building on, and I have a well-defined development path with specific goals.

The next step is to evolve building and management aspects of the game. You'll be able to spend your cash fitting your station out with shops, ATMs, flower stalls, newspaper stands or service doors. Each facility will bring in more income and offer more strategic choice.

Overcrowd: A Commute 'Em Up is the debut title from one-man and one-woman developer Squareplay Games. It has, so far, been a 4 year, project. To find out more and access the devlog visit

@ThePedro123 Hiya - It's hard to say exactly. I'm making lots of progress but its a big project - so I think you can expect it sometime this year probably/hopefully mid year roughly. Sorry I can't be much more specific just yet, but will put updates here/reddit/blog etc and likely some videos and bigger updates soonish. Thx for keeping an eye on it.

@L. Cpl. Schmuckatelli Hey to answer your q's: yes, yes and yes. I'm planning ro develop commerce into the game, so building shop and if all goes well setting prices and stock levels. Possibly over time this will include deciding what the shop stocks too. Facilities like toilets are in the plan. There will be a smaller selection of commercial outlets and facilities in early access and then this will grow. In early access there should be at least a kiosk and fast food joint, the toilets while planned will come further into early access. Ideas for other shops include things like a cup cake stall, a tie shop, pharmacy. Thanks for keeping an eye on the game :) When I said soonish for early access just below I should clraify thats probably at least 6 months, but it should be nice and developed by then.
