(POTENTIAL SPOILERS) Walkthrough for Contradiction

Please note that Contradiction already has a robust Tip and Cheat system built straight into the game and if you don't with to be spoiled, you may wish to use the in-game help instead. I made this because others may not be familiar with or willing to use said systems (or are going for the achievements). I will try to be as spoiler-free as possible, but some of the evidence clues that are used will give away developments in the game that may not have happened for you yet, so be warned that spoilers are unmarked.

5 pm

Go to the Edentown Village Hall and Investigate.

You will find a Key.

Go to Eden House and Investigate.

You will find an unlocked bicycle, a box of old bottles and a Screwdriver.

Go into the forest to the jetty where Kate's body was found.

Open your inventory, select the screwdriver, and use it.

You will find the Broken Pendant.

Go to Eden Lodge and Knock for Simon.

Immediately switch to interviewing Emma.

Ask Emma about the Broken Pendant.

Emma will tell you about the Freedom Necklace.

Ask Emma about everything else to gain info about Emma and Kate.

Switch back to Interviewing Simon.

Ask about the box of old bottles to learn about Simons' Homebrew.

Ask Simon about everything else.

SIMON CONTRADICTION 1:

"Only known Kate for 3 months." (Kate Vine's Death) x "Kate wore necklace in College." (Freedom Necklace)

6 pm

James is met in the woods near the entrance. You can talk to him more formally at Abbey Farms.

Go to West Street to get to Abbey Farms, but take the side path towards the Greenhouse first.

Look inside the Greenhouse and investigate. You will take notes on the Photo Frames & Paint.
Ask James about the Photo Frames & Paint to get a Black "Scrying" Mirror from James.

Ask James about everything else, but there's nothing else you can do wth his testimony for now.

Head to the Pub, but go around back. You will take notes on the broken window.

Use the key to open the padlocked door. Investigate to pick up the cardboard mask. You cannot investigate behind the shelves yet.

Go to the Pub proper and interview Rebecca by pressing the bell.

Ask about everything you have.

REBECCA CONTRADICTION 1:

Kate gave Rebecca 20 Pounds for a breakage. (Kate Vine's Death) x Doesn't know who who broke the window. (Broken Pub Window)

You will take notes on Kate's Argument.

Return to interviewing Simon at Eden Lodge and ask about all of the evidence you've picked up since. Showing him the Cardboard Mask will get you the Atlus Advirtising Poster.

Now switch to Emma and ask her about everything so far.

EMMA CONTRADICTION 1:

James was selling them last Friday (Black Scrying Mirror) x Went Home to see Parent's on Thursday (Kate's Argument)

EMMA CONTRADICTION 2:
Kate bought lots of new jewelry (Broken Pendant) x Lent Money to Kate because she needed it(Kate's Argument)

EMMA CONTRADICTION 3:

Never met Ryan (Kate's Argument) x Went to a Seminar with Simon (Atlas Advirtising Poster)

7 pm

Go the clearing in the woods in front of Atlas. You will take notes on Hand Symbol Carving.

Go to Eden Lodge and Knock for Simon. He'll tell you about the second greenhouse.

Ask about the Hand Symbol Carving while you're there. You'll take notes on the Atlas Freedom Phrase.

Go to Abbey Farm, go up the steps, go further up, and then go into the large greenhouse and investigate. You will pick the Bag of Dried Leaves.

Go to Rebecca's Pub and interview her, showing her everything you have. Showing her the
Bag of Dried Leaves will let you take notes on the Salvia Divinorum Drug

Return to where you found James to find a man drinking in the woods. He will tell you about Liam. You will automatically call the Chief for information on him.

Talk to James and show him everything new.

JAMES CONTRADICTION 1:

James' degree is in plant science (Liam's Death) x Doesn't know much about Plants (Salvia Divinorum Drug)

JAMES CONTRADICTION 2:

Grows Salvia for his private use only (Salvia Divinorum Drug) x Traded his herbal Tea for Simon's Homebrew (Simon's Homebrew)

James will give you his Third Eye Flyer...and a lot of conspiracy theory.

Go into Atlas and when you get inside open the Left Door to interview Ryan.
Show him everything you have.

RYAN CONTRADICTION 1:

Doesn't recognize any of the symbols (Third Eye Flyer) x Symbol on Mask represents the 'triple Godess' (sic) (Cardboard Mask)

RYAN CONTRADICTION 2:

Phrase invented while based at Village Hall (Atlas 'Freedom' Phrase) x Never came into contact with Third Eye (Third Eye Flyer)

Ryan will give you one hell of a monologue and then drop you into Daddy's lap.

8 pm

You'll start off in an interview with Paul. Show him everything.

PAUL CONTRADICTION 1:

Atlas doesn't allow drugs or alcohol on site (Salvia Divinorium Drug) x Liam had been drinking all night at the seminar (Liam's Death)

Paul will tell you about the Kitchen at Atlas, enabling you to move there.

Go to the Kitchen and Investigate. You will find the Suspicious XXX DVD

Go over to the DVD and use the DVD. You'll see a homemade movie involving a Pickpocket.

Show the DVD to Rebecca, Emma, Simon, James, and Paul. None of them will know anything.

Return to Atlus.
You will be mugged and the DVD will be stolen but will leave behind the Bag Used in Mugging.

Show the bag to Paul.

PAUL CONTRADICTION 2:

Doesn't know where the bag is from (Bag Used in Mugging) x Thinks Mask is from Monarch Costumes (Cardboard Mask)

Go into Atlas and this time use the Right Door. After seeing the Doll Burning Ceremony, head back to the Rand's House. You'll pick up a Remote Control Lock on the way.

Go behind their house and use the Remote Control Lock to see Ryan's Guitar Collection.

Interview Emma with the new evidence.

EMMA CONTRADICTION 4:

Used to sing in a pub band called Blackstone (Ryan's Guitar Collection) x Didn't Know Liam very well (Liam's Death)

EMMA CONTRADICTION 5:

Was at Third-Eye when Paul pulled the stunt (Paul's Theft Stunt) x Was on Holiday when Liam Died (Liam's Death)

9 pm

Go into the Atlas building. In the first room inside, investigate to pick up a Red Torch flashlight.

Head back to the area behind the Pub and use the Red Torch to investigate behind the shelves. You will find Vandalised Car Photos.

Show your new evidence to Simon. When you ask about the Doll Burning, he'll mention Auto-Hypnosis.

Show everything to Ryan. He'll mention a studen by the name of Lisa Blint.

Go down past the Rands' to Lisa's House. You will add notes on Lisa's Accusation.

Show things to Ryan.

RYAN CONTRADICTION 3:
Used to read about Black Magic and Satanic Rituals (Black Scrying Mirror) x Doesn't Know Anything about Devil Worship (Lisa's Accusation)

Ryan will give you the Atlus Aptitude Test.

PAUL CONTRADICTION 3:

Didn't know Emma very well (Emma's Guilt / Emma's Criticism of Liam) x Bought a Necklace for a Student but didn't say who (Freedom Necklace Card)

PAUL CONTRADICTION 4 :

Lisa couldn't handle the course techniques (Atlas Aptitude Test) x Impossible to be hurt or damaged by hypnosis (Atlas Autohypnosis)

PAUL CONTRADICTION 5:

Avoids Relationships with Students (Atlas Autohypnosis) x Once tried to date Emma (Emma's Guilt / Emma's Criticism of Liam)

10 pm

Go into the Pub. Go left and inspect the area. You'll find Rebecca's Prescriptions. Return to the bar and Interview her with all the new evidence.

REBECCA CONTRADICTION 2:

Doesn't take any drugs or medicines (Packet of Dried Leaves) x Cupboard contains Rebecca's prescription Painkillers (Rebecca's Prescriptions).

Rebecca will tell you about Ryan's Arthritis.

Go to Eden Lodge. You'll pick up the Dropped Business Card and the Dropped Key Ring.

Show Simon your new evidence.

SIMON CONTRADICTION 2:
Owns a new car (Dropped Key Ring) x Bike is the only way Simon can get to work(Unlocked Bicycle)

Simon will tell you about his stolen laptop.

Go to Ryan and show him your new evidence.

RYAN CONTRADICTION 4:

Doesn't keep any medicines on site (Salvia Divinorium Drug) x Keeps Painkillers at work and home (Ryan's Arthritis)

RYAN CONTRADICTION 5:

Store Room isn't particularly secure (Simon's Stolen Laptop) x Keeps the morphine in a secure store room at Atlas (Ryan's Arthritis)

You will be able to go upstairs. Used the Dropped Business card. You will take notes on the Atlus Mirror Room

Go to Simon and ask him about the Mirror Room.

SIMON CONTRADICTION 3:

Wrote his PIN on the back fo the card (Dropped Business card) x Didn't know the combination to the mirror room (Atlas Mirror Room)

11 pm

Go into the Woods' clearing. You'll get the Car Key Fob.

Go behid the Rands' and use it. You'll get 500 Pound Cheque for Kate.

Go to James' and you'll see a hand-off. Investigate in the big greenhouse. You'll find a box of poppy pods.

Interview Simon with the new evidence.

SIMON CONTRADICTION 4:

He and Kate took morphine in the Mirror Room (Atlas Mirror Room) x Is Allergic to Opiates (Box of Poppy Pods).
Simon will tell you about Atlas Prime Candidates.

Interview Ryan with the new evidence.

RYAN CONTRADICTION 6:

Students aren't bribed or coerced in any way (Atlas Autohyposis) x Money meant as a 'little' incentive for Kate (500 Pound Cheque for Kate)

RYAN CONTRADICTION 7:

Gave Kate the money to test / assess her (Atlas Autohypnosis) x Students aren't Tested (Atlas Prime Candidates)

12 pm

Go to Paul and ask about Kate's Prime Candidate status.

PAUL CONTRADICTION 6:

Don't use 'threshold testing' (Kate's Prime Status) x CD in Mirror Room used on the course (The Atlas Mirror Room)

You'll strike a nerve. Go to the clearing in the woods.

Present Ryan's Accusation to Simon. You'll get the Patterned Sticky Tape.

Show everything you have to Rebecca.

REBECCA CONTRADICTION 3:

Taped over the broken window to make it safer (Broken Pub Window) x Last saw the tape approx. two months ago (Patterned Sticky Tape)

Watch the events that play out from here and Jenks will solve the case.

When I played it, the subject isn't titled "Emma's Guilt" but is titled "Emma's criticism of Liam".
