Description
Overview

'One Of Them' is a martial arts, action adventure, platformer. We are aiming for release in 2017.

Story

He witnessed the murder of his family as a young boy at the hands of a deadly Ninja clan. Full of rage and nowhere to turn, he realized that the best way to take revenge would be to infiltrate the clan of assassins and become 'One Of Them'. Unbeknownst to 'them' the boy they would train and take in as their own belonged to the family they murdered and had motives of his own.

Motivation

I started Martial Arts in 1987 and since then have earned advanced grades in five styles. I always had a passion for video games and have wanted to make a game like this for as long as I can remember.

I am taking the raw fun of fighting classics like 'International Karate (System 3)', adding a pinch of a 'Limbo-esqe' stylization, and giving the user the choice of how they play the game (Do I fight this guy? Do I hide? Do I come back later and poison him in his sleep?)

A word of warning - If you are after special moves and power-ups. Then sadly, this one isn't for you. If you want brutal, no nonsense, realistic fighting, coupled with stealth and adventure? Then you have come to the right place, my friend!

Platforms

Windows
Linux (Ubuntu)
OSX
XBox One
PlayStation 4

This game isn't really suited to mobile devices due to the complexity of the control system. But if demand was there, I am sure I would work it out.

It does look very pretty and promising. I agree with B4U7's comments, but you do need a reason for the story. I'm not too keen on violent games as there is just too much of that out there, but if it is clever and original and doesn't involve death or violence for the sake of it, then I think I'll enjoy it, especially as it appears to be written from the heart at this stage and respects the moves of the art.

I've seen this last year but I didn't say a thing. Today is the day that I go back to this very page and say something.
This game looks promising. The graphics are beautiful, original and simple. The story is a little cliche, the tipical child who lost his parents and seeks for revenge but I'm sure it will be great. The developer also seems to dedicate his time to the game, thats one more point I add to the greatness of this. There aren't many developers that dedicate their time and efforts into their game and because of that they leave it behind at some point of the development.

Right on! I am looking forward to it.
