Top Dog Achievement Guide

A complete guide for obtaining the Top Dog achievement for 100% reputation.

Introduction

This is a complete guide for obtaining the Top Dog achievement, exactly how I did it.

I set everything up as explained below, went afk for about an hour. When I returned, every group's rep and the overall rep were at 99% and I had the achievement. I don't think it actually shows up as 100%. It didn't take more than 20-30 minutes for it to pop. It only takes about 1 in-game week to get up to 98-99% reputation.

After it's all set up, put the speed to max and wait.

Custom Ruleset

Create a new ruleset and adjust the following values:

General Settings:

• Time Speed = 500%
  
• Private Car Ownership = 50%
  
• Private Car Acceleration = 300%
  
• Walk Speed = 300%

All Transport Types:

• Vehicle Capacity = 250%
  
• Vehicle Quality = 350%
  
• Vehicle Acceleration = 300%
  
• Depot Repair Speed = 200%
  
• Depot Repair Capacity = 300%
  
• Stop Catchment Area = 150%
  
• Stop Quality = 250%

Other values would likely work too, but this is how I had it set.

Map Setup

Start a new sandbox game in Tutorial City. Check the boxes to disable random objectives and have unlimited money. Set the difficulty to Arcade and select your custom ruleset.

Once in the game, change the following:

• Remove the lone house to the far east and the road leading to it
  
• Set all ticket prices to 0.00
  
• Set all worker wages to at least $70-100 for 100% happiness
  
• Set "Allow overcrowding" to 0%

Metro Lines

I set up metro lines as follows:

• I created 6 total metro lines, each with its own depot to prevent wait times. 2 lines each for the western area, the eastern area, and between the areas. One line going clockwise and the other line going counter-clockwise.
  
  
• Each depot has 30 Capitol XT30s, the cheaper metro train. That's much more than needed.
  
  
• Use Page Up/Down to change line elevation so lines can go under each other. My lines for the east and west areas were mostly at -12m offset while the lines between the areas were mostly at -24m offset.
  
  
• Add the best stops, making sure every building has green coverage.
  
  
• For each line, edit the timetable intervals for Weekday, Weekend, and Night to 1:00. Adjust the start and end times so there is a stop every hour.

I have read dozens of Top Dog instructions and have several attempts myself but I'm always stuck at 97-98%. I finally come to this guide and it works immediately! To be honest I don't think this guide uses any other strategies comparing to what I did, but it just works. Magic, isn't it? Thank you mate!
