Boost for the lucky nations

Description
This is my first mod so sorry if it isn't great, hopefully you will enjoy it.
This mod is primarily to boost the lucky nations by giving more bonuses to lucky modifier and a boost to their ideas. I also gave a slight boost to defender of faith by removing the technology penalty. I also added two other culture croup ideas to shrink amount of national ideas nations. I also boosted western tech to level 4 for 1444 since a lot of stuff should be available by the time EU4 starts (Like freaking canons) but putting it any higher then 4 causes some problems so that is as high as it goes, i also boosted indian and chineese tech to 3 so they aren't less advanced than horde tech. Also I gave protestant faith fervor since it seemed odd that (lutheran) protestants didn't get it but reformed (calvinists) did despite the ladder being the less extreme one of them at the time, to make up the reformed are now tolerated heretics (less diplomatic penalties with heretics) and you lose no prestige from converting to them now.
Lucky bonus changes: Free upkeep leaders +1, army morale +5%, naval morale +5%, technology cost -5%, idea cost -5%
Change in who is lucky: Prussia is now lucky as long as there is no brandenburg, Germany is now an always lucky nation (it annoyed me that turning into germany got rid of luck bonus if you were one of the lucky nations), Sweden luck bonus has been extended up to 1720 to reflect their remarkable skill in fighting in the great northern war while still showing their eventual decline, scandinavia now has luck bonus over the same time.

Well, I didn't actually read anyone elses reply but yours, but I agree that they are complaining about the wrong thing.

I said that mostly because I find it odd that people are complaining about balance on a mod that clearly is about making some nations overpowered, though I was honestly expecting people to complain about france because everyone always complains about france regardless of context.

"You do not have to use this mod if you do not want to"
I wasn't going to. But I am still well within my rights to comment on it.

I made this mod not to make the game anymore balanced, this isn't a serious mod, I made this mod mainly for two reasons: 1. To have set of overpowered nations 2. Because I wanted to make it more consistant that these nations would be dominant since I often decide to just go on observer mode and see what happens.
You do not have to use this mod if you do not want to and you can disable lucky nations anyway if you do not like the mechanic, no one is forcing you to play this mod, just like no one is forcing me to play mods that make any other nations overpowered.
Lord Lambert Apr 23, 2015 @ 7:01am
The problem is, Mr President, lucky nations is terrible game design. The modifiers are utterly arbitrary and in no way represent the real reasons why the nations were lucky in history. If lucky nations was on by default and there was no way to remove it, there'd be a mod that removes it, because, as I previously stated, it's TERRIBLE game design. Utterly lazy. The game needs LESS bullshit modifiers, not more. Regardless of whether it is France or Russia or the Ottomans or whatever, it's not needed, and is actively worse for being there. Your mod takes one of the worst aspects of the game and makes it worse.

...I understand there was gonna be some people complain over that it makes several nations overpowered, but I am surprised just how many focus on france when I boosted them very little in comparison to most of the other nations, all I really did was increase their manpower tradition from +20% to +25% (a miniscule one that I mainly did because I felt like I had to boost something without boosting too much), made their first non-tradition national idea go from +15% vassal income and -10% annexation cost to +25% vassal income and -15% annexation cost, and the last non-ambition national idea give +25% religous unity on top of the tolerance bonuses.
Seriously, all things considered I think I boosted them less than I did the russian ideas or even the polish and ottoman ideas now that I give more thought to it.
