Zone 1: Most likely a green slime, but it could be a blue or yellow slime that's stuck. Could be a barrel or a crate too. Crates only move one square; barrels roll and break blocks. Run 'em over every trap and cross fingers.
Zone 2: Same thing, could be a barrel or a crate. Move around, figure out if it's a Clone stuck on the wall. Walk to a cardinal direction from it, find out if it's an armadillo. Check and make sure it's not actually an explosive mushroom, so just hit it once and back away in case the red dot's still there. Listen out for whether it's a mushroom, and whether it's a purple mushroom. Might even be a golem that you haven't seen move.
Zone 3: I don't even. A stationary dot could be slimes, cauldrons, a knight stuck on a cauldron, or a slime stuck on a map-invisible mimic cauldron and not just a simple cauldron.
