Let's take a break from all the 4-ways and move on to some 3-way interchanges, and is there any better way to start then with a trumpet interchange. In real life, this is by far the most popular design worldwide because of its low cost and small size compared to T-stacks. However, its capacity is among the lowest of all 3-way interchanges, mainly because of the 270-degree loop some vehicles have to make. In-game it seems to be working quite fine though, so don't let reality stop you from ploping this down in your city!

===================================================================

Advantages:
+ With only two bridges, and two levels, it should be childsplay to plop this down in rough terrain
+ No weaving
+ Can be upgraded to a T-stack by replacing the 270-degree loop with a flyover
+ Fairly small

Disadvantages:
- The 270-degree loop might slow down traffic

====================================================================

Cost: 15 380
Upkeep: 188 / week

In-game description:
Easy does it, as a wise man once said, and you can't get any simpler than a trumpet interchange!

Hey Timboh, I see that you have been updating your intersections with preview images. I'm working on a collection of intersections I use that only have preview thumbnails. I'm requesting that you update this one next along with this...

Hope you will soon! Thanks :)

'Can be upgraded to a T-stack by replacing the 270-degree loop with a flyover"

Can I see an example of this? I'm not really sure what you mean by that.

very functional and elegant.
I like Chop Goblins. Mar 20, 2015 @ 5:24pm
Very useful intersections, saved a lot of time with a few of these so far. But I'm wondering if anyone else only sees the generic white-block-building icon for these ingame? I don't see the thumbnails of pictures of these intersections, so I have to mouse-hover over each one.

I posted a second ago on a different one of yours that I was looking for a compact 3-way :) — strange how the ramps elevate instead of the expressway, but that matches reality (it puts a limit on shipping heights but .. that doesn't matter!) this was what I was looking for.

@spudcosmic: The term you're looking for is probably "service interchange", and I already have one uploaded, the A-4 Parclo! And if that's not what you're looking for, I promise there will be more service interchanges :)

The proper civil engineering term is “service interchanges”.

Freeway‐to‐freeway interchanges are “system interchanges”.

This is great, I was looking forward to some T-interchanges, would love to see more. Also, do you think you could do some highway-to-lower-density-road Interchanges? (Exuse me for not knowing the proper civil engineering term)
