Name Change

Hey guys, we have some exciting news. We’ve officially changed the name of our game from Retrograde to Subconscious.

Why the name change?

There is currently another indie game on Steam called Retro/Grade, and after listening to all of your comments, we felt the need to change it. We wanted to thank everyone for letting us know about the conflicting names and in the future please feel free to continue giving us feedback.

What’s the progress?

One of our main focuses over the last few months was on improving the graphics for Subconscious and turning it into a more polished game. Since this is our first game, and we still have a lot to learn, we expect some future improvements to be made and we would love to hear any suggestions that people have. Check out our Facebook and Twitter pages for some update to date screenshots.

What’s the next step?

We’re going to be working on designing and building the rest of the puzzles for the game, as well as getting more voice acting and sounds in for a more immersive experience. We are also going to be looking for beta testers in the near future so see below for more information!

When will the game be released?

As of right now, we’re hoping to release the game in early 2016. Follow us on social media for more updates.

Can I beta test for Subconscious?

Greenlit in 8 Days!

Hey Everyone,

Thank you all so much for supporting Retrograde! Thanks
to you, we were able to get Greenlit after only 8 days!

We have read through all of your comments and wanted to make sure
we address a few common concerns. The name of the game will likely be
modified before the final release due to its similarity with
Retro/Grade. If you have suggestions, let us know!

The graphics are going to be improved by the time we release on Steam.
We wanted to put most of our effort in making sure the game worked
properly and was enjoyable for the player. In addition to fixing some
minor glitches, we are going to shift our focus to improving the
game’s graphical quality.

We noticed that many of you have suggested alternative game modes
which is something that we have been considering for a long time. We
love the idea of a co-op and a timed mode being introduced into the
game so as the game continues to develop, we will be keeping those
options in mind.

Most importantly we wanted to let all of you know how important your
feedback is to us so make sure to like our Facebook and Twitter pages
to keep up on all of our latest updates. We plan on keeping the pages
updated throughout our development process and we hope to hear some
great feedback from all of you!

Subconscious is a first-person puzzle game set in the minds of amnesia patients. Every puzzle you solve will help these patients remember a small keystone from their past which will aid in their memory retrieval process. As you go deeper into the subconscious, their minds may begin resisting treatment and things could get a little freaky. Just keep in mind that you are making a real difference in someone’s life.

I know this got Greenlit a while ago, but I can't wait! This will be one of my favorite games to play (once I get a graphic drive that can run it! :P)

The game is very similar to Portal, and some other games that involve gravity and gravity guns (Old Idea, not very Innovative). But, you implemented some new concepts that are new to this genre. Like changing the wall's gravity.
