IRRELEVANT The Potion Dictionary

This is a guide for all the potions. Basically like a dictionary (hense the name). In each section, I will list ingredients (no pics) and what they do.

Healing Potions

Mushroom: Just an orange mushroom. Can be eaten for 15 hp or used in crafting.

Bottled Water Bottle of water. Heals 20 hp and is a material. Dont drink it, you will lose the bottle so it isnt really worth it

Heart/ Candy Apple/ Candy Cane Little Hearts dropped by enemies and the Heart Statue by using wires. The heart statue is easily exploitable.

Lesser: Heal 50 hp, are made from 1 Orange Mushroom (forest mushroom), 2 gel, 2 regular bottles. Commonly found in pots and chests. Also dropped by non-Hardmode bosses. (will be refered to as LH potions)

Bottle of Honey: Heals 80 hp. Dropped from Queen Bee (refer to my other guide about bosses for loot.) and crafted by sitting in a pool of honey and crafting. Can be used to summon Queen Bee with other mats.*

Eggnog Heals 80 hp. Dropped from presents (remember December)

Healing Potion Heals 100 hp. Dropped by the Wall of Flesh (WoF) and is crafted using 2 LH potions and a Glowing Mushroom.

Honeyfin Restores 120 hp, and is obtained by Fishing inside a Bee Hive (do not attempt in real life, you will feel pain)

Greater Healing Potion The best. Made by mixing a Bottle of Water (BoW), 3 Pixie Dust, and a Crystal Shard (found in Underground Hallow). Also dropped by Hardmode Bosses. So its pretty easy to farm those with good gear.

Heart Crystal Adds 20 hp to a max of 400. Can be boosted further by Lifeforce potions and Life Fruit. Keep finding these guys, the sell for 1 gold

Life Fruit Found in Hardmode Jungles. Kill all plants with a green heart on it. Adds 5 hp to a max of 500. Can be boosted by LFPs. Also sell for 2 gold

Up next is Mana potions

Mana Restoration

Star/Soul Cake/ Sugar Plum Dropped by enemies and Star Statues. Add 100 Mana back to your count.

Lesser Mana Potion I will refer to this as LMP. Restore 50 Mana These are bought from the Merchant for 2 Silver Coins (200 Copper coins) and are found in the Dungeon.

Mana Potion They are made from adding a Glowing Mushroom (GM) to 2 LMPs. Restores 100 Mana. Pretty cheap cost if you have an AFK farm and a GM farm

Greater Mana Potion They are bought from the Wizard NPC for 10 silver. Pretty worth it if you use magic. Restores 200 (Base max) mana

Super Mana Potions Alright, dont make these puppies unless you are a 100% magic user. They restore 300 Mana. Dont use them if you only got 200 Mana. Made by adding a Fallen Star, 3 Crystal shards, and a Unicorn Horn to 15 GMPs. Dont worry, you get 15 back.

Lesser Restoration They restore 50 hp and mana. Dont depend on these when you need mana and you only have LRPs. Made by combining a LMP and a LHP.

Restoration Potion Same thing as LRPs, but heal 100 HP and Mana, and are made from a MP and an HP.

Mana Crystal Adds 20 Mana to your count, to a total of 200 max. Can be boosted by Arcane modifiers and certain armors.

Teleportation Potions

Recall Potions My personal favorite, when I lost my Magic Mirror (liek if u cri evri tiem). Anyways, they are crafted with Bottled Water, Deathweed, and a Specular Fish (Found by Fishing in the Underground, or Cavern levels). Basically a limited Magic Mirror in bottle.

Teleportation Potion Kinda dumb, but do it if your bored. Made by mixing a Fireblossom and a Chaos Fish (Found by fishing in the Underground Hallow) into a BoW. Puts you into a random spot in the world (fun to play with)

Food/Drinks

Cooked Fish, Cooked Shrimp, Sashimi Gives you Well Fed buff (Minor Improvement to all stats) for 3 mins. Honsetly, Im not gonna tell you how to craft these. Im lazy. You do need a Cooking Pot though.

Pad Thai Sold from the Trav Merchant for 20 Silver. Gives Well Fed for 4 mins

Pho Sold from the Trav Merchant for 30 Silver. Gives Well Fed for 7 mins.

Bowl of Soup Made from a Bowl (2 Clay at a Furnace, can also be placed) a Goldfish, and a Mushroom at a Cooking Pot. Gives WF for mins. Probably worth it.

Cooked Marshmellow Made by standing close to a campfire holding out a Marshmellow on a stick (1 wood type + Marshmellow, MM is sold by Merchant in snow biome) You lose the stick.

Christmas Pudding/Gingerbread Cookie/Sugar Cookies Found in Presents, buff for 15 mins.

Pumpkin Pie Good ingame and in real life. Gives WF for 15 mins, crafted by 10 pumpkins near a Furnace.

Ale Dont drink kids. Its bad. Also ingame its not good. It gives you Tipsy (drunk) debuff which gives: -4 defense, + 2% Crit chance on Melee, + 10% attack speed, +10% attack dmg. It might not be a debuff, but you cant remove it. Crafted by being near a Keg and having a mug. Can be used for Molotov Cocktails (:D) Just for eleiy7575, it will take 10 ale, 1 silk, and 1 torch to make Molotovs. Dont worry, you get like 10 back.

Sake Adds Tispy for 4 mins. Sold by Trav Merchant

Buff Potions

Ammo Reservation Potion Made with Bottled Water, Double Cod, and Moonglow. Decreases chance to consume ammo by 20%

Archery Potion Made with BoW a Daybloom and a Lens. Increases Arrow Speed and Dmg by 20%

Battle Potion Made with BoW, Deathweed, and a Rotten Chunk/Vertebrae. Increases Spawn Rate max enemies in your world. (TL;DR: Makes more crap to kill faster)

Builder's Potion Made with BoW, Blinkroot, Silverthorn, and Moonglow. Increases placement speed and adds 1 range

Calming Potion Made with BoW, a Damselfish, and a Daybloom. Decreases spawn rate

Crate Potion Made with BoW, Amber, Deathweed, and Moonglow. Increased chance to fish a crate.

Dangersence Made with Silverthorn, BoW, and Cobwebs. Highlights traps

Endurance Potion Reduces Damage taken by 10%. Made by adding an Armored Cavefish, and a Blinkroot to a BoW

Featherfalling BoW + Daybloom + Blinkroot + Feather. Enough said

Fishing Potion BoW + Cripsy Honey Block + Waterleaf. Adds 15 fishing power

Flipper Potion BoW + Silverthorn + Waterleaf. Allows you to move through water easily

Gills Potion Name says all. BoW + Waterleaf + Coral

Grav Potion Allows the control of gravity. BoW + Fireblossom + Deathweed + Blinkroot + Feather

Heartreach Potion BoW + Crimson Tigerfish + Daybloom + Moonglow. Increased heart pickup range

Hunter Potion Highlights enemies. BoW + Daybloom + Blinkroot + Shark fin

Inferno Potion BoW + Flarefin Koi + 2 Obsidifish + Fireblossom. Sets enemies on fire in range.

Invisiblity Potion BoW + Blinkroot + Moonglow. This will only make your body invisible, your clothes/armor will show

Ironskin Potion Adds 8 defense. BoW + Daybloom + Lead/Iron Ore.

Lifeforce Potion BoW + Prismite + Moonglow + Silverthorn + Waterleaf. Adds 20% of your current health to your life bar (so if you had 100 hp, you would now have 120 hp.)

Magic Power Potion BoW + Moonglow + Deathweed + Fallen Star. Increased Magic Damage by 20%

Mana Regen Potion Same recipie as MPP, but Deathweed is Daybloom. Increased Mana Regen

Mining Potion Increases mining speed by 25%. Made with BoW, Antilion Mandible, and Blinkroot.

Nightowl Potion Allows better sight in the dark. BoW + Daybloom + Blinkroot

Obsidian Skin Potion BoW + Fireblossom + Waterleaf + Obsidian. Allows you to swim in lava and not die

Rage Potion BoW + Hemopiranha + Deathweed Increases Crit chance by 10%

Regen Potion Gives icreased hp regen. BoW + Mushroom + Daybloom

Shine Potion BoW + Daybloom + GM. Makes you radiate light

Sonar Potion BoW + Coral + Waterleaf. Allows you to see what fish is on your line

Spelunker Potion Highlights chests, pots, heart crystals, and ores. BoW + Blinkroot + Moonglow + Platinum/Gold ore

Summoner's Potion BoW + Varigated Lardfish + Moonglow. Allows you to have another minion

Swiftness Potions Allows you run 25% faster (Allows fastness). BoW + Cactus + Blinkroot (CACTUS)

Thorns Potion. Makes attackers take damage (Like a cactus). BoW + Deathweed + Cactus (CACTUS) + Worm Tooth + Stinger

Titan Potion BoW + Bone + Deathweed + Silverthorn. Increased Knockback

Warmth Potion Resistance to cold themed enemies. BoW + Frost Minnow + Silverthorn

Water Walking Potion Name says all. BoW + Waterleaf + Shark Fin

Wrath Potion BoW + Ebonkoi + Deathweed

Flasks

These potions give you a buff that will inflict some sort of debuff on an enemy when using Melee Weapons (Scourge of the Corruptor, Vampire Knifes, Swords, Spears, Tools, Boomerangs, Flails, etc.) Only 1 can be used at a time

They are made from what inflicts it (Ex: 5 Stingers + BoW = Flask of Poison.)

Heres what makes flasks:
Gold Dust
Stingers
Hellstone Ore
Vial of Venom
Ichor
Cursed Flames
Nanites
Confetti

You need 5 of each item and the BoW to make one. You need to buy an Imbuing Station from the Witch Doctor
