How to install custom weapon models

This is a short guide I felt I needed to make for all you as it took me quite a while to actually find this out myself.

Getting Started

A Quick Precursor: I am in no way liable if anything happens to your computer. Use your brain when downloading files from the internet.[/b]

First you will need to get a skin you would like to have in the game. A good place to start looking is a website called Gamebanana. I have used gamebanana for years and have never had a problem with them. Now for the sake of this guide however just go to: http://hl.gamebanana.com/skins , find a skin you want, and download it. You should now have a zip folder with something like this inside it:

Now these files are the ones you really need (if you can't find them after opening the .zip or .rar dig around in the folders inside, some skins come with different options):

Now that you have your two files it is time to go to the next step, installation!

Installation

Now come the part that might trick a few people up. First you will need to go to wherever you have steam installed to and follow this path, Steam\SteamApps\common\Half-Life\valve_hd\models , it should look like this:

Now go back to the file you downloaded, open up the "models" folder and you should see some files like this:

Now just simply drag these items into the valve_hd\models folder and you got the model on your Half Life game!:

Also a little error like this might pop up, just click "Move and Replace":


















-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Now for audio, it is the same instilation process with the exeption that you put the audio files in Steam\SteamApps\common\Half-Life\valve_hd\sound , instead.

you can just create a folder "valve_custom", add things there and in the game options tick the add custom content check box
