How To Disable Kill Cam

Why?

There are a few reasons why people want to disable the kill cam. It can break the flow, it can interfere with play, or it's just plain annoying.

For me, I found that it changes the launch point for arrows, and can make them hit terrain or other obsticles that non kill cam arrows easily clear.

I've also heard that it changes the impact point of spells, but I don't use magic very often, so I never really had that problem.

How To:

Go to:
Documents/MyGames/Skyrim/Skyrim (not "SkyrimPrefs")

Paste the piece below at the bottom of that page-

bVATSdisable=1

that should disable kill cam.

[Note]:

The melee kill-move animations are still used, but it will no longer force you out of first person to watch in slow motion and from a diiferent angle(usually a side view).

For example; If you use the stealth throat slit move in first person with the kill cam still enabled, it will switch to a third person, slowed side view until the animation ends. However, if you disable the kill cam with the bit of script above, you will stay in first person and just see the back of the victim's head.

You will still have the "power moves", but it won't slow down and force the camera to change to a side view.

I built a new machine last summer and original SKYRIM doesn't run as well on it so I've been playing the Special Edition with the full DLC. Love the game, HATE the killcam!!! I'm about to see if this works on the S.E.. Will get back to you and let you know.

I hate this dumb kill cam, especially when magic. You burn a mo fo to death but... but he doesn't die and you just sit there watching how he bashes your skull in until the kill cam gets off or until you die cuz u were on low health too.

Thanks, this stupid killcam is not only annoying, but it often messes up with arrows and spells, making them miss.

Kill cam wouldn't have done Oblivion or Morrowind any favors, so why would I want it in my Skyrim? Stop trying to make Elder Scrolls play like fallout, Todd.

Perfect, I play with a bow 95% of the time, and that damn kill cam messes up the battle flow, and sometimes it feels like enemies move towards you while you are watching the kill and patting your own back. I find it buggy and disorienting to have enabled.

for me the worst time for the killtime was when it showed me how Im not even hitting draugr, then he shouted me and my camera stayed to the draugr meanwhile my character was away from the camera :D

Killcam is so fekking buggy, half the time it sticks the animation, i dont fire my arrow, and the stuck killcam gives the mobs time to run up to me, aaaand i have to holster and reequip to be able to fire again... Shit unnecssary "feature" that contributes nothing to the game.
