SFX update: We've added volume control for both SFX and Music. Small 'Local traffic' ships within star systems now give some sound based on their distance from your ship, and it's now possible to have minor collisions with them. The Player character now has footsteps on stations, and transition animations have some SFX added.

Customizable keys; we judged too much for us to do and test for initial release.
Volume control; is on the Issue list, I'll ensure it gets done for you.

FYI, I have been adding new music options, like options to make music change track when you dock, and/or exit so you get more of a sense of changing location. Sourced and added a new set of music with vocals from a band who do 80's style with japanese influences, kept the old tracks, and added some more 'adventure game' type tracks. The preset options are to be for music with vocals in space, and adventure game music on stations.. but you can change it in-game.

It's just this is the only discussion about 3030 that has some life left. Will the new update have customizable keys and volume control?

It's not dead yet. It sustained heavy injuries from a brutal bear attack but is crawling towards release like a legendary frontiersman. We've completed graphics improvements and some more content. We are now working through a list of issues and minor fixes aiming for a late Feb / early March release. Probably on Early Access as people have offered to help out on balance issues and finding any new bugs that might have crept in with the new content work.

Well they posted an update just 10 days ago, which you can see just a couple of posts below yours, so probably/hopefully not.
