Move seamlessly between editing and playing your game.

Set platforms and hazards to move in any direction and at any speed.
Add effects like icy, bouncy, sticky and more to platforms and tiles.
Enhance your game's appearance with foreground and background tiles.
Use the Retrofilter to give your games a pixelated retro look.
Your creations are automatically saved for you, and sharing your game or adding a downloaded game is as easy as copy and paste!

Includes the example games: "Proving Grounds of the Mad Game Designer", a brutal test of your platforming skills; "Purgatory", a dark, emotional tale of a man stuck in limbo; "8 Bit Love Affair", a retro style game with classic graphics. Now includes George Dziov's "ghost In The City", a futuristic adventure!

Q.: Why do you want the game to be on Steam?

A.: I want to add Steam Workshop features to make it even easier to share your game levels.
It will be easier for me to add to the game and update as Steam automatically patches your games.

Q.: Is the game finished?

A.: Yes! Platfinity is fully functional and feature complete. I am planning on adding enhancements and new features to make it even better, all of which will be included at no charge. Let me know what you want to see in the game? :)

Platfinity is available now on itch io!:

tl;dr: It's like the indie version of #MarioMaker
I have been developing it for over two years now, way before Mario Maker was announced ;)

- can I change the background music and the diffrent music effects like jumping and falling?

Yes! The background music and the sounds for jumping and getting hurt are changeable.

- how many images can I use for charackter animations? is this limited or is there a minimum?

Yes, it's limited to make it easier to make your own characters. I didn't want people to be discouraged by so many frames to paint. There are 14 frames total to make a character. If you freeze frame the new steam trailer you can see the character page. Here's the video, at about 21 seconds in:

No problem! I don't mind answering questions, maybe other people wonder the same things too? :)

-can the charackter jump only one block?

The character can up to three blocks/tiles. The jump height depends on how long you hold down the button/key. A tiny press jumps about 1/2 a tile high and the full jump is three blocks high, so the high jump clears three blocks high.

-or is it possible to make a png file with for example the halfe of the block. Does the charackter then ran over the half block? or will he stand on it?

Yes, you can make a half height block tile and import it. The blocks can be any shape. The character will stand on any Normal Tile (the tiles on the layer with the character). The character can walk also up or down tiles with a slope. Normal Tiles can also have properties, so you can make a block slippery like ice, sticky like mud, bouncy like a spring, or act like a conveyor belt - moving the character back and forth when standing on it.

Thanks for the questions! I look forward to seeing what you create

continued...:

- Is multiplayer possible? or only singleplayer?

Only single player.

- are there any things the player can interact with? for example a dialoug to a other charackter (AI)?

There are text boxes you can use to tell a story, but no AI characters.

- Is it possible to have items that the player can use?

No items, sorry :(

Thanks for the questions! Platfinity is available to buy now, 10% off for the first week if you are interested :D

Hi Oddy!

Thank you for your interest in Platfinity!

- can I customize every texture? (foreground, background, game menu, loading screen, animations of the charackter? an which size do the images have?)

Foreground, background, character, Yes
Menu, loading screen, No :(

- and if i can customize my charackter animation, do i have to make a gif or can I load the single images into the program?

It's all single images. .png format. You can import them through the game's interface.

- when i finish the game, can i export it?

Yes! Exporting is as easy as clicking Save & Export. The .exe and data go to their own folder so you can sell or share them :)

so a few things i am wondering about:

- and if i can customize my charackter animation, do i have to make a gif or can I load the single images into the program?
- when i finish the game, can i export it?
- Is multiplayer possible? or only singleplayer?
- are there any things the player can interact with? for example a dialoug to a other charackter (AI)?
- Is it possible to have items that the player can use?

Would be really cool if you can answer my questions!

thanks for the update Zer0]{elvin ... its true, people love card, badges, wallpapers... it add some "value" when it will be release on steam..
Zer0]{elvin  [author] Oct 4, 2015 @ 4:05pm
There's also some artwork to be done making the Badges, Trading Cards, Backgrounds and Emoticons...and art is not my strongest skill so they take me some time to get right, heheh

I'm hoping to get that stuff done this month (October), but the release date is still "when it's done" for now. Thanks for being patient everyone, you will get Steam keys when it's done no matter where you bought it!

Oh, never saw this comment until now:
" One question remains since this is greenlit. Is there a new release date set for Platfinity? "

I haven't set a date yet. I've got a build working on Steam with a stub in there for achievements. I'm working on figuring out what achievements to add...I don't want to rush that as I want the achievements to be interesting ones people will want to do, not boring ones or too easy or too hard.
I've also made jumping a bit more interactive and a whole bunch of other things have been improved. I had to move some of the data from the program folder for the Steam version as Steam has a set of files that remain the same for your game. The biggest improvement is there is now one-click Export to a stand-alone game, so you can sell or share your games with people who don't have Platfinity.
