TNGComputer

Description
TNGComputer is a new mod aimed at the Star Trek fanboy in all of us. Now, you might think that this is one of THOSE mods where someone just went out and slapped together a huge mish-mash of Star Trek 'noises' and said "Hey! You love Trek? Listen to this caca!" No, no my friend. This is not my style.

TNGComputer is a classy take on the Trek style, while integrating seamlessly into the natural Starpoint Gemini II world. How so? Well, I went through every 287 voice audio files.. mapped their file names to what the computer says.
Then, I went through EACH FILE and added an appropriate beep, alert, trill, or what-have-you. The result is a nice fusion of Star Trek and Starpoint Gemini II.

Don't take my word for it friends.. before downloading the massive (hey, quality doesn't come cheap!) 100mb mod, check out the demo video I made. If you want to skip to some action, hop to 2:30 in. Otherwise, the whole video is good at demonstrating various audio files.

Some fun things to try out with the mod:
* Fly too close to a planet.
* Explore a new sector with enemies in it
* Transport troops to an enemy ship
* Get in a firefight and lose
* Use the automated firing system
* T-Jump somewhere
* Take a wormhole
* Cloak
* Adjust ship to plane
* Grapple someone
* Destroy enemy ships
* Repair an object
* Scan an object
the list goes on..

I also highly recommend installing 'TNGAmbience' and 'Oomox' along with this mod. TNGAmbience replaces the warp sounds of the vanilla game with something less repetitive. Oomox is a modification which tones down the explosions and weapons audio in the game, as they can be a little too loud. This makes it easier to hear your ship's computer. All three mods play nice with each other. As far as I know, they don't conflict with any known mods.

Please note that there IS one audio file which has the Star Trek TNG computer voice. I think it's tastefully done though. Consider it an homage.

As always, please feel free to post your praise, boos, suggestions, or comments. I'll do my best to improve the mod as needed. If you enjoy the mod, please rate it!

Enjoy!

o_O? Why would you assume on the side of it being incompatible? It's only a sound mod, it just changes the default sounds, to other sounds. So other mods should be unaffected, unless you use another sound mod. Also, I mean.. try it? lol

Yeah I tested it out the other day and it works well I think. Was there something needing adjustment?

Bean still working on this?, is a nice little mod, prefer the Star-treky computer voice over the standard, and this works nicely :)

Nope. Crashed everytime.

Ah I see. So you got it working?
I focused on TNG as I prefer the audio from that 'era'.

Well I had the TOS torpedo and Klingon Torpedo for the...um, torpedo sounds. The "beam_start" was the phaser switch from TOS while the "beam_duration" was the TOS phaser. Beam 1A through 1F were various phaser sounds. TrekCore has oodles of SFX available for free.
