Some exciting news! And a little delay...

Hello there, pizza Express lovers!

As some of you might have noticed, Black Shell Media has decided to support me as Pizza Express publisher in this adventure! Useless to say, it is very exciting to work with them, and I am flattered for the chance they have given me. We've been working hard to get Pizza Express greenlit (and we got to 82% to the top 100 so far!) and to make it an even better game, adding more options and tweaks. This is why we've decided to delay Pizza Express release a little. Sorry! Expect it around June!

That being said, it's time to show off some more progress about the game itself. After some complaints about Pizza Express resolution, I've added a handful of options that now allows players to set their screen however they want. Change the aspect ratio, set the resolution accordingly and you'll be playing Pizza Express in 1080p in no time!

To suit as many screens as possible, Pizza Express supports five different aspect ratios in addition to its native one: 16:9, 16:10, 3:2, 4:3 and 5:4. The resolution width can be pushed as high as 2048 pixels, but if that's not enough for you, there are options to fill the screen entirely, either ignoring the selected aspect ratio or keeping it into account. You can say farewell to those ugly black rectangles in fullscreen!

All this is possible through the use of surfaces. Nowadays, pretty much any computer supports them, but in the unlikely case you're stuck on a machine from the Stone Age (or you are experiencing some kind of problem with surfaces), fear not. You'll be able to turn them off and still enjoy Pizza Express luciousness, although your resolution will be fixed to Pizza Express native 223x144. Yeah, that's small, but you'll always be able to resize the game window through isotropic scaling. No need for a magnifying glass, I promise!

I've also implemented a new transition system, which makes them a lot smoother than before. This also solved a problem which affected old machines, where transitions took twice as much time to complete. So that's good! A number of small bugs have been addressed and a few typos fixed (surely a lot more to go, though!). The game manuals are also ready and that means pretty much everything is done.

Pizza Express is coming May 31st!

Hello there, pizza Express lovers!

After 7 months on Steam Greenlight and almost 2 years of development, I am happy to announce Pizza Express finally has a release date: 31 May 2015!
If everything goes according to plan (that is, if I manage to get what's left done in the allotted time) players will be able to enjoy Pizza Express unpredictable story, topped with zesty characters, peppery gameplay and lots of gut-wrenching achievements which will put even the most hardcore players to the test!

As mentioned in the previous update, there will be 120 achievements in total, ranging from story-related objectives, skill-related ones and special achievements. Every achievement unlocked will fill your medal case with an extra award, either in iron, bronze, silver, gold or platinum, according to the level of difficulty of the achievement unlocked. And on top of that, you'll also find a piece for a mysterious jigsaw puzzle...

So, the adventure is about to begin! Will you have what it takes to be the #1 restaurant in town? Your friends Lucky and Gastone will be there waiting for you...!

Pizza Express is a fast-paced restaurant simulation for Windows, developed by one-man studio Onni Interactive, where you'll join the laborious Gastone and her wreckless friend Lucky in a tasty adventure which will bring you from zero to hero. As we all know too well, we live in the Great Recession. Hard times for everybody, especially for businesses. Only a handful manage to get through unscratched, while many others are forced to shut up shop for good due to bankruptcy. This is what happened to Gastone's father, once a very successful chef, who saw his culinary empire come abruptly to an end.
But Gastone is not a cat who gives up easily, and decides to follow his father's steps opening a small, brand new pizzeria. However, he knows he wouldn't be able to run it all on its own, and asks her best friend, Lucky, for some help in finding manpower. And this is when you come into action, because Lucky believes you could make the perfect pizzaiolo (or pizzaiola, if you are a lady). Will you join your two new friends in this adventure, where you will be working your tail off between making pizzas, managing a restaurant and meeting an array of weird characters who will most likely give you quite a time?

Pizza Express features a dynamic story, meaning this changes according to the choices you take throughout your adventure. You might end up in huge trouble with bad crooks, appear on TV, fly through the skies, punch crazy quacks in the face, get allied with your worst enemy... Everything can happen! And the only way to find that out is to play, and play, and play!

F.L.A.B., acronym for Finger Licking Associated Bistros, is an organization of restaurant critics, who happily spend their time carefully stuffing their stomaches in the best eateries of the planet, assessing each bite they take. Mr Magellano De Cavidi, F.L.A.B. First Secretary, will be the gentleman in charge of evaluating your pizzeria. Although he has a very refined palate, he is a rather easy-going person. He will be more than glad to give you his impressions and suggestions, provided you can understand his, at times, rather peculiar lexicon.
Mr De Cavidi and F.L.A.B. take great pride in their criteria, which include menu variety and ingredients quality, as well as more complex factors that Mr De Cavidi will lovingly explain to you.
Your objective is to reach the top spot on F.L.A.B. standings by the end of day 30. To do that, you will need great culinary skills and intelligent marketing, that will make you score big and become the most popular restaurant in town.
