Fantastic Start & A Bundle
Description
Release date: July 2014
Gridlock is an arena-based shooter that sees you take control of four gun turrets. In the middle of the grid, a variety of abstract yet lethal geometric shapes emerge which will destroy your turrets. Unless, of course, you can shoot the shapes first. Game over comes when/if all your turrets are destroyed.

Gridlock harkens back to a time when games were about beating your own high-score and also about shooting abstract shapes. Nothing more, nothing less.

Supports Xbox 360 controller on PC & Mac, if you like that kind of thing.

Steamification

When Gridlock is greenlit, we'll take time to make sure we support everything you're used to seeing supported in a game available via Steam: leaderboards, achievements. Maybe even Linux support.

Obviously, if you happen to have bought Gridlock elsewhere in the meantime, or perhaps even in a bundle, keys will be provided assuming there aren't any issues from anywhere about that. We'd like to think there wouldn't be, but you never know.

What's that? Yes, you can already get Gridlock with your actual money over here[ludometrics.com] or on Desura.

Friends of the Show

Here are a few other games currently on Greenlight that we'd like to see make it through so we can spend money on them (again, in some cases):

Mighty Tactical Shooter
Death Ray Manta
Monsters & Monocles - Greenlit!
WE ARE DOOMED
Containment Protocol

The multiplier mechanic is poorly conceived and even more poorly implemented (it keeps increasing as long as you don't literally hold down space, and tapping space lets you fire nearly as often). If it was more aggressive, it'd still be bad, since 5.0x isn't really worth the risk of letting the playfield clutter up.

Graphics and music aren't aggressively terrible or anything, but they reek of "public domain art assets" - just so, so generic.

Game itself just isn't really exciting - no alternate ships, no score attack mode, no time attack mode - I'm not saying that these features are REQUIRED, mind you, I'm just saying that SOMETHING should be there besides "PLAY" and "QUIT". "Simple" isn't bad at all, but "simplistic" definitely is. It just doesn't feel like anything beyond shareware you'd buy on a floppy for $0.99 in the impulse-buy bin near the checkout at Fry's.
