Stratus: Battle For The Sky is a unique, fast-paced, real-time-strategy game which combines elements of tower defense meets classic old school god games RTS gameplay, player take control of a high priest that leads one of four factions Sun, Wind, Rain, Thunder and must fight other factions high priests for control of the skies and limited resources for ones own faction.

Wealth in land or currency, while useful, is ultimately not the key to victory. Like the chess piece King, the High Priest is the linchpin of your empire. Lose the priest and you lose all.

Stratus: Battle For The Sky game play takes place in the world of Sonus, shattered by a continuous war among the Tempests of Rain, Wind, and Thunder. The only refuge is on the floating islands of the planet’s fractured crust, suspended in the winds of perpetual gales. As the High Priest of your tribe, you must align yourself with one of the Tempests to appease their lust for battle and gain their favor by sacrificing your enemies high priest to the Gods for ultimate victory. Victory will grant you new technology and spells that will aid your tribe in ascending from the storm to the safe heavens above.

A players High Priests is the center of a players faction and acts as the intermediary between his tribe and the Tempests, it is through the Priest that the player is able construct buildings and harness the gifted powers of the Tempests through spells that can turn the tides of war.

One major element is through the use of bridges as the building block of battle, flanking and encircling enemy positions and expanding territory to gain strategic dominance.

Bridges become available with the construction of a temple and can be placed to link islands to to link up with floating resource points, another capability of bridges is their ability to have construction built off the end sections allowing for placement of attack or blocking units from unconnected ends of bridge segments.

While one can construct workshops and temples game-play units is focused on the careful expansion and use of towers and fortifications to attack from and gain territory while expanding the area one controls.

Stratus units are unique among RTS games. Each unit while cannot move once deployed have a specific range, damage, hit points and special ability. While some units inflict vicious damage and have superior overall capabilities, this does not make them impregnable. Cheaper, less powerful units placed expertly can dismantle larger, more powerful battle lines.

Yes we are readying a new build for the backers that backed us on the Indiegogo, The new build testers will be trying out will include the new Sun workshop units and structures and rain faction working. The coming build testers will be trying out will also include the new login lobby system for the game for hosting and joining games that should be much more stable then the last build tried out in the past months, We also have implemented more features into the battle rings for easier setting of game settings in MP from map sizes and resource options.

We have collected the funds raised through the Indiegogo and are now working on finishing up the last rain faction units and starting in on Sun faction.. we will be releasing some new content updates soon!

Steam has the potential to make this game what Netstorm never was but should have been. Hopefully word of mouth can put this game into a realm where it belongs amoung some of the best games ever made. I have played ALOT of games in my time but NETSTORM always stood out as one of my favorites...put so many hours into it!!!
