Alpha 2 on BIT-GEN web site
Description
Release date: Fourth Quarter 2014
Diamond Deeps is a retro styled action trap-em-up game. It features simple gameplay with quirky AI that can catch you off guard when you least expect it.

The game is designed for couch play targetting Steam Box but is just as good as a single-player desktop game.

Supporting up to 4 players in a vs mode of trapping mayhem while collecting Diamonds and trying to snooker your friends can ensure hours of entertainment value with a bunch of mates or family members.

Also supporting coop play, again up to 4 players can take on roles to either collect gems or trap ghosts requiring all participants to work together to complete the levels.

For players who grew up on the early PC's and played Lode Runner, Apple Panic or even Pac Man you will be quite familiar with the vibe I am trying to channel in this game and I hope it can help you re-live some of those times, perhaps in multiplayer mode with your younger friends, relatives or like me.. children.

You can also keep up with current playable demo versions that I post to my web page at:
www.bit-gen.com

The current video's music track is temporary, and will not be the final music (the musician is working on it still!)

I can just get a SNES game...
You are re-doing the wheel.

I played the exact same game on NES, with Bugs Bunny, some 20 years ago

It's good to see more Aussie game devs trying to stake a claim in this market. Keep it up!

Well, here's a gif comparing the sprites: http://i.imgur.com/CNO6bR1.gif
They look awful similar to me.

Instant upvote due to Linux + Multiplayer :)

Yes it is very 16 bit style which is what I am trying to capture. The sprite is not a Megaman paintover over though. He was actually inspired by Alex Kidd more than anything else I think
Bonzai Aug 14 @ 8:17pm
@Lucas, that's because it is Megaman's sprites, they were drawn over. Source: I used to be a spriter

Thanks for the support everyone, I am still plugging away at this and not updating the Greenlight page much but intend to soon along with a new 3level demo that will almost be feature-complete (including sound+music).

Hopefully once that is done I can make a new video and promote a bit so this can get Greenlit at which point I intend to add some achievements/badges maybe cards depending how it all pans out.

Greatly appreciate the positive comments and constructive feedback though, you all rock!
