Absolute Drift is Released!
Release Date
Release date: Winter 2014/2015
"The game is called Absolute Drift and it is about, well, drifting. You drive around various maps and score points by pulling off neat moves with your car. It's heavily in development but it already has a lot of charm to it."
András Neltz, Kotaku

The Pavement is Your Canvas, The Tires are Your Brush.

Absolute Drift is a car drifting/gymkhana game set in a minimal 3D world. The core-mechanic is simply controlling the car while it is sliding sideways. The aim is to increase your skill to the point that you are a master driver by competing in events where you must perform tricks around obstacles and demonstrate your driving skill.

Currently there are two game modes:
  • Freestyle Tracks: 2 minutes in an open track to score as many points as possible.
  • Drift Tracks: 3 laps in a closed course to score as many points as possible.

The full release will include a GYMKHANA mode, where players must drift around a course and perform maneuvers around obstacles for points.

Early-Alpha demo available here:

Features in-development:
  • Gymkhana game mode
  • Skill Challenges
  • Unlock new tracks.
  • Online high scores
  • More tracks

Absolute Drift may be one of the most simplistic-looking car games you’ll see this year...

Originally posted by Alex Kierstein, Popular Mechanics:
Absolute Drift takes about 2 seconds to understand, about 5 minutes to master, and then it's all about trying to gain points for destroying boxes, flipping through the air completely out of control, and linking the largest drifts you can possibly think of.

Hey Ruckus, thanks for the kind words :)

The game should be going into Closed Beta testing soon, shoot me an email:

The controls have been tuned since the original prototype and are more predictable and smoother.

Also, just a personal opinion, the steering could use a little tweeking. Not saying it's bad, but there seems to be a very fine line between being able to pull off an epic drift to spinning around in circles for 5 minutes. Granted that fine line is there in real drifting aswell but it feels as though there's less control and more so luck involved if you ask me.

Personally, I've had this game on my Favorites/Follow Greenlight list since it first hit steam, there's almost limitless possibilities for this game, everything from different vehicle models, to track editors, physics mods, game modes, and the list goes on. =]... I can only dream and hope for either an Early Access or Release of this game... I've also been following it on the IndieDB site but I'd love to have this sitting in my Favorites list of my Steam Library.
My "resources" are limited so to speak, though, if there is a way for me to donate to you through steam without an Early Access available yet, let me know, maybe even be a tester/contributor, I'd be honored to do so. I anxiously look forwards to this hitting the steam store, it will definitely be in my check-out cart the moment that happens lol, till then keep up the good work!
