Oh hello TOP-50!
Enter Yani, the second protagonist of Solstice
Description
Release date: Late 2014
Solstice is a mystery thriller about small personal disasters that can turn into great catastrophes and a clear conscience that is as rare as pure snow.

Website with more info and pre-orders:
http://moacube.com/games/solstice/

An exotic city in the middle of a frozen wasteland, cut off from the world by raging blizzards. Inhabited only by a small group of misfits, who either can’t or don’t want to leave for the dead winter season.

When the local archaeologist goes missing, an ambitious doctor on a contract and a mysterious young woman, who arrived with the last dog sled caravan, start asking questions.

What starts as an innocent investigation to pass the time, may result in the cold wasteland finally claiming the proud Jewel of the North.

"What I love about Solstice is how it deals with people and their usually understandable motives, instead of combining items that most mystery adventure games do."
-IndieStatik

"The aesthetics are gorgeous and make the world feel more alive than similar games can claim, but its real strength is in its storytelling."
-IndieGames

"Solstice is about nothing more complicated than people from different places, with different stories to tell. That’s not risky. That’s interesting."
-TheMarySue

Probably just a touch higher, as we use more effects and animations. But if Cinders ran well for you, I'm 99% sure Solstice will as well. :)

Wow the game looks stunning.i have been really enjoying this style of game play like Cinders which is a really great game. However what I would like to know is, will this game have the same system requirements as Cinders? Thanks

Don't get me wrong. There're still hundreds of choices in the game and they all matter, just like in Cinders. The outcome varies drastically depending on what you do. It's not even guaranteed that both protagonists make it to the end, changing the last chapters drastically based on who is available to you.

It's just structured differently. Cinders was wider than it was long, so to say. It was a relatively brief game with no set storyline -- you've made one yourself as you played. Solstice, on the other hand, is a defined story with key plot points and an arc. It unfolds differently depending on how you play, your characters become different people, and you uncover different secrets, but you're moving within the same lengthy mystery.

What is sad news to me. I don't want to bash a product before I even see it but personally I think the point of interactive books (games), is that they are *interactive*, meaning your choices matter, they shape both sotry and what your character is. What Cinders did perfectly. For a linear story I can just buy a book (with pictures). :-(

So far Solstice seems to be significantly longer than Cinders, mainly because there's more focus on the plot, so the story is a bit more linear in how events unfolds. Cinders didn't have that much less text, but you only saw like 10-15% on each playthrough, due to the extensive branching.

Is the game length going to be longer than Cinders ? Because i find that CInders is quite short and can be completed within a few hours.

This year. We're aiming for the Spring, but it's not a fixed date.
