The Music Machine is now on Steam
The Moon Sliver has been Greenlit!
Release date: Released May 3 2014
"...a game that shot straight to the top of my “Favorite Games of 2014″ list...The Moon Sliver is simply too good to pass on."

"It's a classic tale retold with brilliant tension, as it was in John Carpenter's The Thing and Telltale's The Walking Dead series."
- Kill Screen Daily

"It’s a short evocative tale that only solidifies my opinion of the worst horrors being the ones you don’t understand at all - and the ones you deal with alone."
- Mana Pool

You are on an island, cold and bleak and windy. You are alone, yet fires and candles still burn in dwellings that seem to have been recently occupied. What happened to the people that lived here? As you freely explore, piecing together the fragmented memories you find, a tale of guilt, loneliness, uncertainty, and hope begins to take shape. And it becomes increasingly evident that something is hunting you...

The Moon Sliver is an exploration/horror game with an emphasis on atmosphere and story. It features a unique narrative mechanic that blurs the line between story and exploration, where interacting with objects and even just moving around will reveal fragments of narration, a multi-layered storyline that rewards deliberate non-linear exploration as well as multiple playthroughs, and an evocative lonely atmosphere. Explore the island, keep your flashlight charged, wait for night to fall. Discover answers.

The Moon Sliver can already be purchased either on or Desura

Hahaha Yeah I found that after I left a comment. Got it on my wishlist.

I wanted to say after I read your write-ups on FingerBones that like a lot of writers, what you as the writer think is in the game, isn't necessarily what all players are taking away from that game/story.

What struck me with it was that the vague hints of what the protag was/is/did leave a lot to the imagination of the player rather than spelled out to the player so I suspect that is why players are so fond of the game.
Which is what makes the game so disturbing.

I know you aren't fond of the "found notes" cliche [from your own writing on it] but sometimes a standard technique is still the right technique. Think of hero journey--overdone in stories/games/films every day of the week--it's not the technique, it's whether or not it is used to good effect and in this case [writer guy with psych history who keeps journal notes] --leaving notes, fits.

I really liked Fingerbones. Sort of a flash fiction addiction ;) I will get a review to you after I think it over a bit.

So, I am following this for when it comes out.

Congrats on the Greenlight for this!
