Description
Release date: READY TO ROCK
Gauntlet Meets Tower Defense

Soulcaster started as an experiment to see how well dungeon crawling would pair with tactical tower defense. The result (after much testing and many iterations) is something really special, if I do say so myself.

You may have played Escape Goat, or its sequel, which just came out on Steam. I'm proud to present the spiritual ancestors to these games, which have nothing to do with goats--but I am certain you will still have a great time with them. Soulcaster was one of the most beloved Xbox Live Indie Games, back in the early days of XNA, resting in the top 20 rated games on the service for many months. Brought to PC in 2012, it's now time to bring these games to Steam.

Let me tell you a bit about the Soulcaster world.

Journey into a forgotten land and reawaken the souls of three immortal guardians: Shaedu, the archer; Bloodfire, the alchemist; and Aeox, the warrior. Summon them at tactical locations to fend off and destroy the hordes of relentless foes you will face. Picking the who to summon, and where, is crucial: Shaedu can fire arrows across rivers, but not through walls. Bloodfire's firebombs won't be stopped by walls, but because of their slowness, fast-moving enemies will easily slip past them. Aeox does a great job holding the line at choke points--but beware, he goes down quickly if surrounded. The possibilities of summon combinations are endless, and every player develops a unique play style. Your second time through will be a totally different experience, also!

Did I mention there is an RPG-style upgrade mechanic?

The merchant also has heavy metal music.

I could go on, but it's best just to watch the videos.

Soulcaster: Book I & II is a two-part adventure, featuring dozens of maps and challenge rooms. Your vote can help these games get on Steam, where they belong! Thank you for reading, and please leave comments--I will try to respond when I can.

@Dentorhedge: That would be nice. I bought the .. what was it called? Splitplay? bundle over at Groupees. I don't remember. It was a site with it's own downloads but then they sent a message they would shut it down and I messaged them about possible refunds (friendly) and also how I would have to remember to fetch the games before they did but then I of course forgot to download the games anyway.

I try to check Steam once a week for comments, but since they don't offer email notifications, I'm usually pretty slow to respond. Soulcaster is indeed finally coming to Steam this month. I look forward to presenting it to everyone, and thanks for being patient.

Mr. Stocker says he'll try his best to get key to everybody who already purchased on PC, and--

It'll ne on Steam sometime this month!! (100% elsewhere, but still hyped). MTB is rarely on steam, though, so this isn't a good place to get his attention. His twitter seems to be best... though if you think that is too invasive then the website is the best bet.

Will this reach Steam or not?

I'm kinda here due to the Shinyloot bundle 2 on Groupee which contained this and Fortix 2 but only Steam keys for Fortix 2 and now Shinyloot is going belly up.

I think I have Soulcaster from Humble bundle too.

Any chance we'll get Steam keys? I still haven't played any of the games but that's common for all my bundles ;D

Easy with the comments there, folks. With any luck we can get posts from three consecutive years on the first page at once.

Sad to hear about Soul Caster 3 still being far from being launched, though :(

I dont want insane feats i want play the game and at with the ending 100 % achievement completion :D and many achievements ^^ so i wish you good luck with your new game development that you dont need more time than you expect it ^^

I hear you on that. I try to be mindful to keep "platting" within reach of intermediate players. Though top players sometimes gripe about not getting recognition for their insane feats... :-)

So then we need to wait 1 year and 1 month for a full steam support Soulcaster Book 1 & 2? Better then never but dont forget MANY ACHIEVEMENTS ARE THE BEST BUT ONLY IF THEY ARE ALL! NOT! TO HARD! ^^

My apologies for being out of touch, I really haven't checked messages on Steam in months. I still plan to bring the games to Steam, but I have been focused completely on the next Soulcaster game for the past year, at the expense of the whole back catalog. "Steamifying" a game to add things like achievements, cards, cloud save, and the other things customers expect takes about one month full time, and due to the development schedule of my current project I haven't been able to devote that time to it. I would very much like to bring the games to Steam though. Thanks for being patient.
