The revolutionary concept of WorldCreator opens up totally new dimensions of creating virtual landscapes.

The unique combination of artistic tools and semi-scientific algorithms makes it possible to create realistic, breathtaking landscapes based on conceptual layouts or even on your imagination. "Isolines" offer you for the first time the opportunity to creatively control the form of the landscape. Interventions are none-destructive and layer-based, and you can always readjust, switch off or change an isoline or layer at any time in the process. Artistic "shape" filters give the landscapes a typical natural structure such as round hills or ridged mountains.

The semi-scientific erosion algorithms can turn these outlines into fantastic, realistic and believable landscapes. In addition, flows, rivers or even entire river networks can be added to the terrain. The algorithm is unique, extremely fast and satisfies even scientific requirements. But landscapes are not only defined by nature. The human factor also is a very important element. The "vector" tool "simulates" this part of a landscape. You can use it to integrate roads, urban areas or even controlled rivers into your terrain.

It might give the feeling of being an advanced artist, if someone knows many different encrypted named algorithms like FB, Perlin, Multi Fractal or Voroni of different terrain generators. But that is not making a good artist or game developer, and at least no good landscapes. So in WorldCreator there are no encrypted names for algorithms to learn, but the algorithms are named according to the results. You can concentrate on creating terrains and not learning, what the effect of more or less "grain" and "threshold" is. And this applies not only for the algorithms, but also for the controls. That makes WorldCreator to may be the most user-friendly terrain generator.

And to make it even more easy, WorldCreator ships with over 3000 terrain presets you can use right away as a very good starting point to create your terrain!

Yes, the demo HAS limitations just like the watermarks applied on the exported maps - that is why it is a demo! The full version supports Wavefront OBJ export.

Exporting a terrain as a 3D model was never the primary intention of WorldCreator as every professional 3D application supports terrain creation out of heightmaps and colormaps.

A refresh of the entire window (and the internal controls) causes a flash but this is NOT a bug - the application does NOT crash! This is due of the selected programming language we used for WorldCreator - it is not the fastest one but therefore the most scalable one regarding multi-platform support.

The terrain creation results are the best available and our current customers in the games and film industry are proving it. The terrain creation algorithms are the most advanced available and surely you will need a good CPU but therefore you get the most realistic terrain out of it.

I tried the demo, the software has bugs when resizing in Windows with this 150%, under the bar flashes, and when you select one of the tabs to modify the terrain, also flashes.

I do not have Maia and these other overpriced commercial software, I like to import 3D files into MeshLab and optimizes them. No export 3D model is useless for me.

You said that the program exports to OBJ, but I did not see where to export the OBJ in the demo.

I see it was not published by Steam yet although the release date and time was set properly ... so annoying ... will have to contact Steam to see what went wrong ... sry ... I keep you all informed.

You also can export to OBJ files ... but WorldCreator is not for exporting 3D models but for heightmaps and colormaps you can import in any 3D game engine or other 3D application like 3DS MAX and MAYA to create the terrain mesh out of the heightmaps and colormaps. We will upload some tutorial videos that show you how to do this.

This is a standard approach by all common engines and 3D applications. It also would not make sense to export specific model formats as every game engine and 3D application has its own solution for large scale terrain visualization (like geometrical mip-mapping, ROAM, SOAR, chunked lods, quadtree based chunks and so on)

This exports the terrain in the COLLADA .dae? And along with the texture? And what other 3D formats it exports?
