Takes a kicking and keeps on ticking, That tag line should be applied to this game like no other, I played this when the servers first came up in the US many years ago now.

Even today with the likes of Wow, Conan, Wildstar and others, To my mind there has never been another fantasy pve/pvp game that touched this one for style and fun. Nowadays it looks old yes, The creeky animations, low textures and limited UI make it seem like a dinosaur to many who are new to the genre but this really was the game that kicked off the fun in MMO`s and showed there didnt have to be a huge grind(looking at EQ there).

Always proud to have played this game for so long with some great and not so great people , I hope it does great on Steam.

Nitefall Of Tristam and proud retired Co-GM/Officer of Crimsonwind,
Yes, that minstrel that fell asleep at a Mid Mg and lived guarded by friends from all factions that night, Something that would never happen now in PVP I`m sure.

From what i have been reaeding, DaoC is dead more or less, might have a small population of people still putting in the time, but end game i think it will just fade away. Wish Mythic would have never brought out Warhammer, and that that would have made DaoC a little less in fees , even if you subscribed for year, you were still paying $12/mo. Sorry to see this great game die as non of the MMO's after it have really touched base with it on a whole.

reading alot of your comments, Yeah I think the only way this game will survive is ifs F2P, and people buy what they want to buy, Don't Think peeps are going to shell out $13/mo for old game. Yes it was the best PvP/RvR up to date, and i have played everything like so many other looking for that. GooD luck Mythic, make it F2P and I will rejoin your epic game. But only on classic servers, dont like all that other crap.

LoL took them this long to get on Steam, LOL, first when it was released it was not advertised very well so it took like 3yrs to gather a large pop and that was after 3 exspansions, then like in EQ only the people who had no life and could camp stuff would reep the benifits, then they brought out classic servers, which alot of people joined , It then started to go threw a decline and then in there infinite wisdom decided to bring out warhammer which basically took half the pop DaoC had at the time and went to warhammer, now warhammer is dead and they are trying to bring back DaoC and YOU still have to pay a montly fee.

Good game concept, bad game company.

Not worth the $13/mo.

I had fun with this game back in the day.. But not worth more than, say, $5 a month.. Especially since it's on an outdated, unoptimized engine that doesn't look much better than when I played it back in the day on a GeForce 4600 Ti, but still runs at a crap frame rate (30ish fps in housing area on a GeForce 780 GTX, really, with under 8% GPU utilization?)

Oh well I still have fond memories, at least, playing from Beta and almost half a decade after. (Back when it was actually $10 or $11 a month).

this game was awsome back in its days, then they had to add in over powered chars like banshees and allow people to have bots.....
